This would be a tangible argument if Vancouver was needing to “sell” Pettersson’s value or worth in a hypothetical trade scenario, but they really don’t need to. Every organization has seen and knows what he’s capable of and any acquiring team would be doing so under the assumption that he’ll regain his form for them.
Well..Any deal for EP will include Necas, Likely KK (for cap reasons) Morrow, 1st + anything else to get it done within some reason. Can Carolina really fit him in now? Necas has broken out as a top star, and they went long-term with Jarvis. They have lost a lot of cap flexibility since they apparently made a pitch for him.
He’s obviously trying to light a fire under Pettersson’s ass with those comments. Then don't say it?

Contrary to popular hfboards belief, the Canucks’ don’t want to trade Pettersson. Motivating him to become more consistent is clearly their #1 priority and this appears to me to be Allvin’s approach here. He’s not actively looking to move him.I said it in another post but I don't have a problem with either individual statement, it's just weird to combine both of them.
Vancouver would not be looking to move him cheap or take back cap unless it’s for contributing players. What would Vancouver even be looking for in a Pettersson trade? I would think the Sharks would have interest if they can either get Pettersson cheap or move some cap back as part of it.

Buffalo make sense if Cozens is included, they also have to option to add either Power or Byram.Elias Pettersson (C)
Elias Pettersson (D)
Nils Hoglander

Owen Power
Dylan Cozens
I would literally add Lekkerimaki if this somehow is not enticing enough for Buffalo (for maybe an additional 2nd). Both teams need a serious shake up.
Detroit doesn't have what it take to add Pettersson, Vancouver will need a top6 center back + a 2nd pairing defenceman.I would love him on the Habs, but this screams NYR, Buffalo or Detroit
Disgustingly bad for Vancouver. The best player in the deal and a 1st?Elias Pettersson (C)

I feel like he'd like the bright lights of NY, but what do they have to offer?I would love him on the Habs, but this screams NYR, Buffalo or Detroit
Cozens is 24, Power is 22... both locked in under contract.Disgustingly bad for Vancouver. The best player in the deal and a 1st?
Power has been outplayed by Byram and not sure he’s living up to expectations.

How about:
Cozens
Samuelsson
Clifton
1st
2nd
Petey
Hoglander
Deharnais
There's no deal without Cozens, and Petey is worth more than Power. No interest in the pile of leftover parts for Cozens, but Pettersson for Power as a straight-up swap might be interesting. Risky, but interesting.
This is legit horrific for Vancouver. Wow.Elias Pettersson (C)

Cheap is always in the eye of the beholder. I don't see any way for the Canucks to get a quality-only deal for a player with that sort of contract.Vancouver would not be looking to move him cheap or take back cap unless it’s for contributing players.
The point would be to get out of a long term 11.6 mil contract of someone you don't trust to be worth that kind of cap hit. Even that asking price would is highly unlikely to materialize. Who has that available and wants Pettersson? We wouldn't move him for "cheap" or take back any ugly contracts. What's even the point of moving him if we did?
More than likely, a second line center and a consistent top four defensemen would be the goal if we're moving Pettersson.
How many franchise players do you know thatre the 4th best player on their team?Kinda crazy for a GM to drop that line about their franchise player, no?
