Carolina dominates play against most teams. I agree they are the “better” team but I don’t think there’s any real point Turk g to get into a possession game with them, that’s not really how you beat them
And not having a reliable goalie or whatever is a team flaw as much as not having depth to dominate possession etc
Hurricanes aren’t perfect
Of course they're not perfect, but the Rangers don't have the option to get into a possession game with them. If they could, they would.

Therefore, they're dependent on their goalie vastly outperforming their goalie.

It's been deflating to watch how easily Carolina leaves their zone and enters the Rangers zone while maintaining possession.

It keeps us as fans constantly on edge and fearing the endless battles right in front of Shesterkin's crease.

Because the Rangers have gone further than any of us thought would happen, it's still an amazing season and I hope they make it to Tampa.

If Carolina had a great goalie, they'd have a legitimate chance of beating anyone to get a Cup.

Not to mention they could’ve won both, game 1 & 2!

Yes! Put aside that it’s a ridiculous question/statement. Igor plays for the Rangers and I believe in game two or three, they literally had 7 shots through 2 1/2 periods.
Why is it a ridiculous statement/question?

It's entirely accurate.

Yes, disagree 100%. Were the much better teams in games 1, 3 & 4.
This is so wrong that it's almost right.

Besides the soft goals last night, Raanta has been very good, especially at home. Igor let in a softy in game 4, but we managed to score more goals and win.
You make Canes sound like the 1980 Red Army team. Relax brother, I've seen many teams play like the Canes but most of them don't win squat.

Team isn't winning on Monday unless they score the first goal.
Although I agree somewhat, I can't doubt this team.

You can tell when they 'have it' and when they don't. If they look like Pittsburgh Game 4 or Carolina Game 5, it will take a miracle.

I can't remember a quality team like Carolina having such different numbers at home vs away. The Boston series was the same exact thing. Boston scored 6 goals in 4 games in Carolina but averaged 4 goals a game in Boston. It's really bazaar.

You probably don't remember it because this is the first time in NHL history that it's happened.

I think Boston was completely outclassed in Carolina until Game7.

We blew game 1. Had a chance in game 2. Looked somewhat like Boston in Game 5. If we're going by that, we should win Game 7.

The pressure is on Carolina. They seem very easy to get off their game. If they fall behind early, they could crumble.

Again I think the rangers have to open the game up to win on Monday. Don’t play Carolinas game, don’t play conservative and try to match them structurally
It’ll be a battle of Carolina trying to lock it down and the rangers open it up

Their defense is not good. One of ADA, Skjei and Smith are on the ice 100% of the time… think about that

We just need to play a simple game and get pucks deep. The cute East/west stuff in the neutral zone and blue lines needs to stop.

I think this what they have to do too, I just hope that “opening things up” doesn’t translate to more blind backhand passes at the blueline. I’m hoping too that this is the game where Goodrow (and Motte) can really shine if the top 9 continue to get smothered.

The Rangers need to distill in a bottle their 1st period play against Carolina and drink it in game 7.

The Rangers best is better than Carolina's best because Carolina's best is defensive play. The Rangers can easily open up the ice.

Barry Melrose picked Carolina in game 7 so that makes me feel extremely confident that the Rangers will win game 7.

Canes forecheck is just different in Carolina. GG said this year that the playoff positioning will work itself out and I don't think he was wrong for this year. Just make it and the chips fall where they may. But next year we need to make sure that game 7's are at MSG.

Mika & Fox tied for second in playoff points behind McDavid & Draisaitl. Fox has not taken a penalty this playoff year

Adam Fox could feasibly reach 30 points this postseason if they somehow make it to the Cup finals. That's an absolutely insane feat if you think about it. That would blow away Hedman's 22 points he recorded during Tampa's first cup run. Kid puts up points in his damn sleep

Neither did the 1980 Red Army team, well a silver

Not sure any dman is ever gonna break Leetch's team record of 34 in 23 though. That's second most all time among blueliners.

Replacing Kakko when line 3 works best with all 3 kids just to keep Reaves seems fireable.

Motte Goodrow Blais. That's it. This is the way. That's a 4th line that wins TB cups.
I couldn’t see GG taking Reaves out of the lineup though. Youre right though, of course.

I agree but i think every opponent tries to get Carolina to open up. It’s tough. They aren’t interested. The key is going to be, most likely the first goal.
