Besides the soft goals last night, Raanta has been very good, especially at home. Igor let in a softy in game 4, but we managed to score more goals and win.
You make Canes sound like the 1980 Red Army team. Relax brother, I've seen many teams play like the Canes but most of them don't win squat.
I agree. They’re one-dimensional. Maybe they break out some amazing skill tomorrow, but up til now they look like a (very good) system team.

Of all the playoff teams left, Carolina feeds off the crowd more than anyone. Get the first goal and quiet the place down.
They are a young team still. Look at Aho, Svech, Teravainen, Jarvis, Necas. Slavin is only 28. We can definitely do this with a solid performance.

Man, I can't help myself continuing to dwell on the fact that if KK f***ing buries that open net in Game 1, this series would be over. It's just insane how shit like that comes back to haunt you to the very end.
A road win would have been huge. That said, the Rangers seem to have their best performances when they have their collective backs up against the wall. So I think that even if KK buries that this series ends up in a similar game seven situation.

very harsh, but very fair.

Of course they're not perfect, but the Rangers don't have the option to get into a possession game with them. If they could, they would.

Therefore, they're dependent on their goalie vastly outperforming their goalie.

It's been deflating to watch how easily Carolina leaves their zone and enters the Rangers zone while maintaining possession.

It keeps us as fans constantly on edge and fearing the endless battles right in front of Shesterkin's crease.

Because the Rangers have gone further than any of us thought would happen, it's still an amazing season and I hope they make it to Tampa.

If Carolina had a great goalie, they'd have a legitimate chance of beating anyone to get a Cup.

Why is it a ridiculous statement/question?

It's entirely accurate.

This is so wrong that it's almost right.
Don’t think Raanta is Cane’s biggest issue. They feature ADA, Skjei and (especially) Smith on defense and their 4th line is not what you need for a prolonged playoff run.

The only team that won with Rangers retreads was the Lightning, Canes will not win game 7 and they know it.

This absolutely is not true
He puts in that goal and we win, it changes the whole series. To assume all the game's outcomes would be the same is not logical
We win that game maybe we sweep
Or maybe they win the next 4
Or maybe like egelband said there still is a game 7.

BTW, I LOVED that the Rangers got contributions from all of Raanta, Skjei, Smith and ADA to the Rangers most important win of the season.

Gallant should seriously consider reshuffling the lines for game 7. Rangers have been locked down on the road in this series.

Carolina hasn’t look threatening at home but I suppose that could be partly down to Gallant seeking balance through the lineup?

Just worried that the Canes will lock it down and we will lose 1-0 because of a failure to break through. Going to need a big game from Panarin.

Raanta looks gassed to me. The smartest thing Rod has done this series was pulling him yesterday.

We generated next to nothing in G5, but he didn't really have to be sharp in that game. Easy to forget that he gave up the stinker of all stinkers on that Strome disallowed goal. Pucks have started to leak through him in the last 3.

Smith had less than 8 minutes the last game. Not sure if that is normal or if he was in the doghouse?

Sam/Joe and many on this board used to slob over their defense. For years all we heard were how young they were and great they were going to be. Slavin, Pesce, Hamilton, Bean, Hanifin, Fleury, Faulk. Only two are left, and there are 3 Rangers "rejects."
