417 does this daily. He/she needs to get outside once in awhile.
This is pretty funny considering I barely post here when it's not hockey season.

I'm also a He and trust me, I am him.

Don’t start what you're unable to finish.

So a week later it's still just "wow you gullible rubes actually care about this" eh?
There is absolutely nothing wrong about not liking/wanting this. All things being equal, I don't either. But there's a massive difference between not liking it and going on about globalists bankers and what their logo says about how they think about the world, switching banks over it, etc.

Not sure if you're referring to me

But I was summoned...was just minding my own bidness lol
Ha fair enough, I just kinda reacted quickly as I hadn't checked this thread in 3-4 days and didn't read the overall context.

Sure, I think that stuff is pretty strange as well, and I find it weird how people are starting to blame RBC instead of the Canadiens themselves for this. Just was an initial response to looking at this thread for the first time in 3-4 days and seeing largely the same line of discussion without looking into the earlier posts.

Internet tough guy, are you? Keep talking in circles all day long as you do every day.
You came looking for me...here I am.

Those circles you talking about, is me lapping you.

Ask @Ozymandias he won't even @ me anymore, he must have sent you, another one of his minions.

Its actually hilarious to watch you, which btw, I don't even know who you are lol as a poster here, did we have some previous run in or something? lol, talk about me talking in circles all day long, when you're apparently holding on to some grudge you have with me, which I don't even remember lol.

This place your whole life huh? and now RBCs ruined it lol

While @Ozymandias aka Orwell, say I don't debate honestly.

Yet neither of you have bothered to debate me on the thread topic once.

Now run back and ask daddy what you should respond with.

A bunch of nothing. Greenpeace getting cited again, as well as talk shows and La Presse letters to the editor. I say: just come over here. We'll give you the score.

What Habs fan need is a lobby. A group represented by fans acting in the best interests of fans. Journalists are obviously falling all over themselves to toe the franchise line. They are either loving it, or too afraid to lose access. Anyway, a Habs lobby could then get quoted in the media instead of Greenpeace every time Molson decides to screw the fans. In a way, some soccer clubs (and I believe the Greenbay Packers) do this by way of public ownership. The fans have a say on the operations because they own a part of the team.

People like @Ozymandias make me laugh because if they really believe what they're saying and they're really about it, why are they not out doing something about it?

Do something about what? The first step towards concrete action is gaining an understanding of the issue from multiple perspectives. You can't just set your hair on fire at first sight. This place is as good as any to work out those ideas and maybe even persuade a few people to share the same perspective. Discussion on this board, at least on this topic, is far more interesting than what any journalist is doing. It's non-existent in the media other than citing Greenpeace and some tweets in a kind of both sides journalism. Normally, a few media figures serve as lightning rods for public sentiment. But it's almost radio silence.

I have never spoken to you because your type isn’t worth engaging. I didn’t come looking for you, you are easy to find. You can be found on hfboards posting all day long everyday.

You haven’t posted an insightful post worth discussing in a single one of those 40+k posts of yours. Yet, here you are talking about owning others. The lack of self awareness is amazing with you. Continue on talking in circles about why posters shouldn’t dislike the RBC logo plastered over the center of the Habs jersey. I’m sure you have a few thousand more meaningless comments to make.

But yet mention me, without @ me.

So I'm not worth engaging, but I'm worth mentioning?

That just makes you a coward.

You don't come looking for me? Is that why you mentioned me in a conversation with another poster that has absolutely nothing to do with me?

And I guess by “my type “ you must mean the same “type” @Ozymandias and @Bombshell11 mean?

I'm happy you found like minded members.

1. I never said anyone shouldn't dislike the RBC logo on the Habs jersey.

2. It's not over the center of the Habs jersey. But it looks like it's on the center of your heart

I been a member here a long ass time man, that's why I go so many posts, I've never backed down from a good debate or whatever you this.

Every single time you post @ me, I will respond, you 100% right for that one.

You‘re not that guy lol but I can continue this dance as long as you want, you want to keep making this about me, I'm bout’ that, wanna make it about the thread topic, I'm bout’ that too lol.

So back to topic, which logo will be the second one?
Since the home jersey has already sold out its prime spot, you have to figure the second logo will adorn the away jersey.

Molson Ex is a brand known to all NHL cities so what better use of that unused ad space.

What in the world are you guys talking about?

While I believe that the Montreal Canadiens hold a cultural relevance that goes beyond their control, the Montreal Canadiens have always, always, always and always will be in the business of making money first and foremost. This is not new. They were a for-profit business in the 50s as well. I'm sure Suzuki isn't losing any sleep over this. Good lord.

I think we all get the notion of profitability, but you cant deny that there are also notions of integrity and decency to observe as a business. Are they bleeding money and need to get back in the black ? Or is at about sacrificing any principle of sports thats in the way of maximum profits ? Because next we could argue that the habs making the playoffs is financialy bad for the NHL since the Quebec crowd most likely will turn on their TVs to watch other teams series while the average american market would not. How far does this go and howmuch of the core ideals of pro sport are we willing to forget in the name of growth ?

Personally im past the point of no return, sport-business is the modern concept, and is openly about maximum profits, i get it. But to me there were some acceptable middle-grounds in the 2000s and 2010s, we're now past that and i can't feel the same emotion for what it has become. Call me romantic..

Good for you if you like the roster revolving doors and sport media talking about money and contracts more than chemistry and tactics, and the RBC logo bigger than the C on our jersey. We got there because there is no such thing as enough in this system.

This is not what made me a hockey junkie.

I know it won't go back to what it was, obviously, but still, this is my personal conviction: the more they make the farther away they get from what is priceless.

Corporations have never put integrity and decency before profitability.

That kind of nobility is for NPOs...

The Montreal Canadiens aren't an NPO.

I'd argue the Montreal Candiens and all other sports organizations did bleed money over the last 2 years of the pandemic, yes absolutely,

Running operations at less than half capacity, paying FULL player salaries with revenues slashed by 3/4s certainly hurt.

Hockey fans seeming *just* watch hockey.

Saying sports business is a modern concept is wild to me.

Then again, I'm a huge fan of the NFL, NBA, European Football.

What made you a hockey junkie is far more about what you put in than whatever the Canadiens ever put out but you were too infatuated to see it - and I don't even mean this in any sort of bad way. This is what being romantic about sports is about.

But what ideal do you think the Canadiens are sacrificing here? I'm genuinely curious. Keep in mind that I said previously I would prefer if they hadn't done it either. So no need to go about preferring to hear networks talk about sponsors instead of tactics. It's just silly and they're not mutually exclusive.

For me, sports is first and foremost, even above winning, about Loyalty. Loyalty from the fans to the team, from the team to the players, from the players to the team and last but not least, from the team to the fans.

And to me this is disloyal to the fans, from all eras, to sacrifice the integrity of our most important emblem, our jersey. Im convinced you could find a million habs fans who would rather pay 20$/ year just to keep it clean and pristine. This is without any consideration for the fact that the RBC, as a bank, is far from being a neutral and positive entity in many ways. But this is another topic.
