You're not as offended by the Leafs one cause it isn't on our jersey.

You'd f***ing melt down if we sold a spot on our jersey to display the word Milk.

Nope. I would make that trade instantly if it was offered. A blue squiggly word that blends in with the jersey and is barely discernible from a distance? You think the fact it is an advertisement for milk, a neutral product one degree removed from any given company, makes them look weak, while our ostentatious RBC badge makes us look strong? The Leafs have completely owned us on this one. If our ad was a squiggly written word, like Money, in blue, I would be fine with it at this point.

Don't mind the patch at all now, my eyes getting used to it pretty quickly. But would've looked better like these ones.

Only surrender monkeys want an ad to fit in on a jersey. It does not belong there so it should stick out like a sore thumb as a reminder of what it is. Why are so many willing to roll over and feel good about an ad looking good on a jersey. The mind boggles.

In fairness the jersey already had a first round expiration date on it... the logo.

Hey don't get me wrong im not accepting this shameless stain on our jersey, but if i had to chose between a nasty bank with a massive crest the size of the C on our jersey or and blanded word that represent the hardworking agricultural workers, the choice is easy my friend. This said im against both, obviously.

We are selling out to the late stage capitalism where nothing is above money. Its a bleek future.

It says

Milk.

They put an ad on their jersey for Milk.

Which brand? Who knows.
Which company? Who knows.

It says...

Milk.
If im not mistaken its for the Ontario Milk producers, which is infinetly more likeable than a predatory institution like the RBC.. Comon man.

Never read all posts but Montreal should have had “bell “on jersey and rbc on helmet . Since Toronto has “milk “and buffalo has “beer”😜

Having yellow on a Habs jersey is disgusting. Le bleu blanc rouge jaune!!!

I'd prefer a beer logo or poutine one tbh

There's no logical reason the Habs and RBC couldn't agree on a version of the logo that doesn't clash, like the one above. I know corporations are picky about maintaining their branded colours, but that applies to the Habs as much as RBC. Both brands need to be respected. The reverse white looks so much better without the clashing blue and yellow – I can't believe RBC would refuse to compromise, just like I can't believe the Habs never asked for this obvious colour concession.

It would be great press for RBC to announce that they’re not putting the logo there bit instead have the ad presence in other areas…

But, that of course will never happen.

It’s just so bush league. I hated it in the helmets and now this stupid shit…

You click on that link and it brings you to an article whose oversized, color heading says “presented by Bell.”

You scroll the article, and right after the first paragraph, there’s a link pimping Habs jogging pants.

You get to the end of the article, only to find an oversized box containing an IGA ad.

It just never ends, every link officially associated with the team is just a rabbit hole of sponsors along its path.

The virtual plastering of ads is no different than the physical plastering at the Bell Centre. If there is yet any untapped ad space, you can rest assured that Geoff and his ilk, will find it.

Geoff had said at the golf course recently, that there would be new ways of generating revenue from TV broadcasts, conceivably from the placement of new ads.

Such is the reality of how this business is run and ad crawl just seems to have been ramped up as a response to pandemic loss of revenue but none of it will ever be ceased once those losses are recouped. The pandemic became a convenient trigger for greater corporate opportunism and as consumers, there is little that can be done about it.

Since when has Geoff Molson appealed to logic and reason?

He’s as greedy as can be

Wrong, I think he's offended because ours looks like trash and the leafs jersey ad's are way better than ours....

It's not.. it's literally the work "Milk"

They literally memed themselves. Ours looks off because of the mismatched colors which is Molson's fault.. but the Leafs sold out for the word 'Milk' which creates 0 brand awareness and is f***ing hilariously bad,

Honest question: Is anyone more inclined to bank with RBC because of this?

I don't think so...

I guess I don't understand the branding idea here. Because all they're doing is annoying the fans.
