Basically this is said about every NHL team including all Canadian teams.

Try some sort of thought provoking analysis about the teams and why the Leafs aren't going to win.

Haven't played the Senators yet for the freebies as a start lol but moreso, same old Flames story, lots of games where they actually look like they are trying for only half the game.

Ya, I guess it was just bad shooters when the Leafs shot 2% in the playins last year.

It kind of was, to be honest. I am pretty sure we got something like 2 goals from our bottom 6 in 5 games.

It's nice to inherit NYI's title of being "PDO Kings", though. I look forward to all of our accomplishments this year being discredited like NYI's were.

Yup, without have a top tier #1C, they have had to go with the top three lines being more like quasi #1/#2 lines. When they are rolling they look good but for them to do anything every line needs to be going. So far, I don't think there has been a game where all three lines have actually been going at the same time.

Defense and goaltending have been buying them the time to figure it out offensively.

oh 100% im sure after our first 10 games theres atleast one habs fans who said Suzuki is or will be better then Matthews but if someone would post that on our boards he would get quoted right away,when The Podium made that post he got quoted a few times but people were agreeing with him nobody pointed him on the Anderson = Thornton comment,you would think that a post with 16 pages would atleast have a few people telling him to chill with that comment but not one so that shows that ur leafs board didnt worship Anderson the way you're saying,he even said Muzzin = Petry but ill let that one fly cuz Muzzin is a really good def and would love him on the habs

Nothing makes me feel worse than being told we're only good because of our high PDO. Sucks to see us compared to the other top PDO teams, losers like Tampa, Dallas, Colorado and Vegas.

From playing them 5 times there biggest issue is they have a lack of scoring. They are hard to play against and have a great goalie. Lack a pure sniper IMO.

Speed too. They are so slow. Maybe adding couple of speedy scoring wingers can solve the problem/

Sounds like a good time to me.

In all seriousness - and I don’t know why an American is coming up with this idea - they should really consider awarding the Canada Cup to the top Canadian team every year. Top points getter, head-to-head, or some other way. Why not? The NHL has trophies for everything. This would be a good addition.

The Stanley Cup started as an award to the top Canadian amateur team. It has since been repurposed.

The Canada Cup started as an international tournament. It could also be repurposed.

The more I think about it, the more I like it.
