Leafs have proved they only need to play at about 40% to win this crappy division.

I say lets forget the rest of the season and put the Leafs in the semi-finals right now because they are obviously so much better then the rest of the division. Hell will the Leafs ever loose another game? With only 14 games played it is obvious that the Leafs are the greatest team since the since the 87-88 Oilers, the 79-80 Islanders or the 74-75 Habs. After all the Leafs have already proven how great they are in the PO's so lets forfeit the rest of the season so the Leafs can have their glory right now. Hell lets skip the PO's too because everyone already knows they will win all of their PO series in 4 straight because they can never loose a PO series. I say lets give the Leafs the SC right now and forfeit the rest of the season because the Leafs are the greatest team that ever existed in the history of humanity.

Holy **** people are touchy, it's not a holy crusade on the north. The defense in that division is terrible. The overall level is easily the weakest of the 4 divisions. For example, Nashville is 7th in the central, Montreal is 2nd in the north. Now if you must bet your house on one of these teams to beat the other one in a 7 game series, i think most would lean Nashville. It's great that the interest is high and so on, didn't argue that.

Nashville isn't a good team, like at all. Montreal certainly seems like better team so strange example.

Also far too much is being made of defensive issues in the North by people on this board. Hell the East is probably the best division of paper 1-8 and even that division has some teams that are disasters currently defensively.

Well in my experience all fan bases do this.

Canuck fans thought greatness after last years playoffs.

Hab fans won the cup last week.

Oiler fans think they are winning the division and that Tyson Barrie will win the Norris after a few good games.

There is a big difference between being optimistic about your team chances then saying your team is so goods that they only have to play at 40% to win any game in their division. Go back to the original post to get the sarcasm and why I made my original post.

I don't disagree with you, and honestly I respect your opinion.

But every fanbase does that as much as the Leafs. All fan bases have extreme homer's, every single one.

People's response to these homer's usually depends on their level of dislike for that team.

Nah, I want to watch the games. Besides, I don't share your conviction. I think the Leafs still have to grow in to a real contender.

The Leafs have to win the division and then beat another division leader in the playoffs to be considered a cup contender for some. And I get it.

For others, they’ll have to get to a Cup final in a non covid season to be considered a contender. Get that too.

Others will never see the Leafs as a good team even if they win a cup this year or next year. Hate gets the best of them. Some know the game and others don’t watch anything but their teams and have never played a game of hockey.

Sad thing is that the third group isn’t small.

Oddly enough. Montreal was screaming at people who didnt call them full on contenders after a decent few weeks. (I think this will return in short order when they rattle off a few wins and/or Suzuki/Romanov does something a shade above normal)

The fact you act like this is crazy talk in hockey land (especially since ALL canadian teams play together and fans of any of these teams will go extreme, depending who's at the top) is the only thing hilarious in these postings.

The Habs are a franchise that always seems to have a franchise goalie and good D, but they've never had a generational talent at forward. Watch how quickly Montréal would embrace a fast, fun to watch team built around offense.

There’s something rotten about Edmonton’s game, even in a win. Smarter people probably know what it is, but I can’t put my finger on it. They just look like they are playing ugly, unorganized hockey.

Well, I am not mad so I will add my two bits. The Toronto fans have branded the maple leaves as some kind of Gods playing on the ice and if you think I am trolling I am not. I would love to cheer for Toronto but I can not see the day happening. It's already known the leaves will win the cup and they already have the parade on stand by now . The W.H.O will come out and say all Toronto fans are immune to the covid virus and the minister will allow the parade to happen . Hell if you look up Nostridumis
you will see even he had talked about the leaves winning the cup in 2021.
