Yes. To think this is only a Hockey Canada issue is naive.

I suspect there will be a steady stream of stories come out.

There is a copy of the video. Was quoted in CBC someone copied the video.
The way it was phrased I'm having trouble determining if there is a video in the possession of authorities. If they are saying people who 'viewed' the video previously at one time say this is what the video was, etc...

I certainly *HOPE* there is a video in the possession of authorities because that makes it a lot easier to prove and identify the rapists.

Following the understanding of consent expressed by some in this thread:

If you walk into a McDonalds to get a hamburger, you should expect to be force-fed 50 hamburgers, because you seem to like hamburgers don't you? but now suddenly you don't? what else would you be expecting in a place like this? you want respect when you're throwing yourself at a hamburger?

Actually, this might be a good punishment for those who struggle with the concept of consent.

These women throw themselves at hockey players (and star athletes/celebrities in general), it's no wonder the men have no respect for them

Respecting someone you are sexually attracted to is the bare minimum. I do not care if a player has a ton of consensual sex or how much a person throws themselves at a celebrity or athlete, what many care about including myself is the stoppage of excuses for some of the vilest acts a person can commit. It is the responsibility of men to better police themselves and work through toxic behavior patterns tied with masculinity, not women to stop existing or having an attraction to people.

It seems to be the most common defence for people who don't believe victims to attack others as being less capable of thinking critically.

Y'all really think highly of yourselves, don't you?

19 years doesn't matter. Maybe the woman has been living a tortured life because she was assaulted, and she said "f*** it, you ruined my prospects in life, you owe me". Or maybe she wants to protect other women out there now that she knows she's not alone.

Weinstein’s victims went back decades. And the same excuse was used to brush them aside..until everyone stood up together against him.

What the f*** is wrong with you that you are asking what the f*** is wrong with me as a reaction to normal question?
I hope you never have to experience rape or any sexual assault of yourself, your friends or your family.
It’s utterly horrific.
To ask some of the questions your asking is just awful.

Here is my answer to your awful questions. I haven’t the least idea why she was there. If I had to guess I’d say because it was exciting to hang out with hockey players. I’d love a night out with King Henrik myself.

Your implication that she wanted sex might very well be accurate, although you have no business acting like it’s a given, but let’s pretend it was. So? She didn’t want what she got. If you walked into a room hoping to hit it off with a girl it wouldn’t mean you gave up all your rights and it shouldn’t mean the people in the room think you’re fair game for something you didn’t consent for.

All that said, we have to wait and see before everybody judges these situations.

With the description of the video, you have to wonder if the victim even fully knows what happened

Unfortunately I doubt the players who made VHS copies to show their buddies kept 20 year old VHS tapes and if they did they’re rushing to destroy them now, so it might be hard to get the evidence to convict the players involved

When girls throw themselves at male celebrities, the general sentiment is "you go girl, shoot your shot" regardless of who the girl is.

When guys throw themselves at female celebrities, the general sentiment is "ew what a creeper" unless the guy is attractive enough.

So is it OK for the women celebrities to have 0 respect for the men who chase after them?

You’ve totally made this up 😂

Wut? If they are doing it with willing women, it's totally fine.

It's if they were doing it with unwilling women where it becomes an issue. Does anyone have the report for what allegedly happened in 2003?

Yeah, there's nothing really incriminating about what he said there...

The lamb roast thing, however... was hard to read.

And penguins signed him after

Coming up and talking to people is not throwing yourself at them jfc.

Average people, men or women, may very well decide to initiate a chat with a famous person if they spot one in a social setting, just so they can say they once met with X person as anecdote.

And for all we know in those two cases it's just as likely that it's the player(s) who initiated a talk.
