And why do you think that girl was there? To learn some hockey skills or what? Or are you telling me these guys drugged her or kidnap her, then it is different story.

It doesn't matter why she was there. Shes allowed to be there. Shes allowed to take interest in one - or multiple guys there. Shes allowed to think they would be cool to hangout with. It literally does not matter why shes there - it doesn't justify being sexually assaulted.

That's your prerogative then. Its incredibly normal for young people to go out looking to get laid and these days, have 3 or 4 people participate willingly these days. Men and women both like it. if you are old fashioned, then, well, you are old fashioned

If any Women were unwilling, then you have a specific case where we can vigorously investigate. We don't know if Tootoo is involved in that aspect of it and Nothing Tootoo said was unusual or wrong thus far.
If me thinking it’s disgusting for men to look at women and think let’s slay these broads the yes, I’m absolutely old fashioned.

Yes his attitude about it is gross. Young men and women being in the same room however is normal and perfectly fine so long as boundaries are respected. We're not in the 40's anymore.
I love my wife and I love my friends. Doesn’t mean I want to have sex with my wife in the same room as my friend and his wife.

And I don’t care if you think I’m from the 40’s. It’s f***ing weird.

The "let's slay these broads" is a common mindset among young men between the ages of 16-22, especially more so for men that typically have more access to women such as high level hockey players.

Not saying it's good or bad, it's just the reality, you can think it's disgusting and others will think it's normal.

I fully agree on only wanting to be with your partner in one room during intimacy, to me being aroused with other naked men around is extremely unappealing. Probably the reason for these gang sexual activities is to seem "savage" in front of their friends.

Whether it’s common or not is irrelevant to me. In fact I agree with you that’s it’s relatively common. Regarldess it’s still a disgusting way to view women. It’s objectification to the max, with underlying beliefs of these women exist for my pleasure. It’s the same reason why I hate when Bissonnette used to talk about sleeping with women as “kills” or in this case to “slay” a woman. It’s gross and words do matter, they reveal the underlying belief.

holy god this thread is even worse than the last one.

literally the only thing in this story that would make it "okay" for the players is if this was a consensual arrangement whereby the girl, sober, agreed to all the actions of the players. Does that sound rational at all?

Reading what’s contained on the video, it’s really a shame we don’t castrate as punishment in this country.

That's not the situation here man. Tootoo's attitude is gross and I'm more upset that there are women out there who throw themselves at men like this who clearly have little respect for them and view them as a means to get laid. That being said young women and men are often in the same room together flirting and making out at parties, clubs, etc. It's not our cup of tea but who are we to dictate what people do sexually, especially when it's consensual? The issue here is that this situation assuming the allegations are true is a textbook example of rape, as the players engaged her sexually while unconscious.

Tootoo seems to be recounting consensual sexual acts.
Wouldn't be the first person to remember things they did in their late teens/early 20s "differently" looking back on it much later. Plenty of frat boys and athletes in colleges have done rapes or gang rapes and just thought the girl 'getting drunk and passing out' was 'consenting' to it. I'm 45. I'm old enough to have grown up where movies and tv shows showed getting a woman a little (or a lot) "Liquored up" could help someone "score".

ITS STILL A RAPE.

There is a video of the incident occurring!
There 'was' a video. It may no longer exist. There are multiple witnesses cited as confirming this. One of them was the person who said their video camera was used and then returned to them and when it was returned they saw this incident recorded on it and they deleted it. I believe it's stated another says they viewed a video in the spring of 2003. There may have been a copy (or multiple copies) made, but there's not a video of the evidence as of this moment.

It's eyewitnesses saying they viewed the video 19 years ago.

Hell, the father of convicted rapist Brock Turner decried charges being brought on the basis of his son just wanting to get some “action”. Said victim was passed out next to a dumpster. This is an issue that defies era unfortunately.

Some junior player having a string of girlfriends is fine what is not is a persistent culture that covers up for and excuses rape and sexual assault. Between the brewing 2003 and 2018 scandals involving Hockey Canada and the Katz situation there is a lot of soul searching that needs to happen in hockey.

Yes. To think this is only a Hockey Canada issue is naive.

I suspect there will be a steady stream of stories come out.

It is a widespread issue with young men. The athlete factor makes just makes it easier for the repulsive attitudes to be put into action. I have lost male friendships and been unable to integrate into male groups because of taking stances against regressive and toxic behaviors. What these scandals do is provide a mirror to wider social issues which is drives a lot of the questioning of their validity.
