Is this an Avalanche fan defending Binnington?

As a Blues fan, first goal wasn't great but the second goal was just a good goal. Binnington isn't the reason they lost tonight.

Blaming the goalie tonight is like blaming the cow for your milk going bad. The USA played as a team and only won by a goal whereas Canada's top lone is too individualistic with the two Macs.
Despite that they only lost by a goal.
The Finns will be just as tough because they embrace team play.

Taking Doughty looks bad now too. Hes not in game form or shape. We would be fine if Makar was in. But him out, Theo now injured, Petro pulling out due to injury AND Doughty barely healthy. Thats a lot on the back end. Harley surprised me to. Kid was a gamer. But you cant replace Makar.

Gretzky and Lemieux’s teams lost games. You’re not going to win every one.

Goaltending is suspect. Nothing you can do about that. They just need to make some adjustments. Against USA they need to play more North South hockey. They lost by one goal with the US playing the trap in the third. It’s not like they got smoked.

No biggie and no reason to panic.

The US development program changed their goaltending development 10 years ago and Canada has is sitting on their butts doing nothing.

The Tkachuks did literally f*** all tonight. Zero points, one of them wasn't even able to finish the game. Outside of the ENG all the goals tonight were scored on the rush.

Guys like Schiefele, Hyman, and Wilson would help but mainly because they're just better than some of the guys who got picked.

Thats the problem with most Canadians and goes to same for NHL fans of Canadian teams. Its all about the points always.

I mean, it's cool that people in the US that historically ignore hockey suddenly seem to care, but also sort of weird to act like they've discovered something new that they need to tell the world about.

I'm not opposed to bringing in new fans. I just think people will see two pro athletes fighting in an exhibition game for their countries and go, "wow, that's real authenticity and emotion (anger)". You don't really get that in any other sports.

I would not say schooled in a 2-1 game they were outshot in,but he definitely did a heck of a job.Just good hockey where any mistake can be difference.

Binnington wasn’t the reason they lost, as much as it pains me to say as an Avs fan. Mackinnon wasn’t shit, McDavid wasn’t shit. The USA played the trap beautifully and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. It shut down those two after they got the lead.

Credit to them. The USA played that entire game incredibly well. The roster selection is kind of a mess to be honest. Cooper doesn’t want to play Marchand, Marner doesn’t fit anywhere well at 5v5 and playing stone on the top two lines didn’t work at all tonight.

I wish I could say that it’s all because Makar out but let’s not forget Hughes isn’t in the USA lineup either.

Congrats on the win USA. It was well earned. Hopefully we get another crack at a rematch.

And that was probably the worst game I've ever seen Crosby play. Even outside the turnover leading to the goal everything was dying on his stick tonight. Very uncharacteristic.
