In the old days, I used to scream to high heaven about the Zamuner-level BS that Canada self-inflicted on itself with roster selection. Because we left so much creativity and skill at home instead of embracing it. The sad reality is that even though that is obviously still somewhat true (Scheifele, Suzuki, Bedard etc.), there just isn't that much talent being left untapped, both up front and certainly on D. Canada just doesn't have the creative depths it used to have, too many elite grinders, not enough visionaries with hands to match.

Difficult to say wrong team won when Binnington is the best goalie Canada has this era.

Yeah, i remember how people used to say the Habs didn’t deserve to win because they were all goaltending. Well, goalies are part of the team.

Binnington has given up three softies in two games. That’s not good enough. But honestly, does it make sense to swap goalies? I don’t know that it does. I think they ride it out.

Finn's win in regulation and they advance no matter what. They have their own fate in their hands. Canada is the same, they win in regulation and they are in. They have head to head on Sweden. Unless I got something wrong. Sweden needs a clean win and a OT for Fin/Can. Monday will be awesome!

Team USA was great defensively. I don’t think Matthews - or any player for that matter - really stood out. They executed the game plan to a T

And offensively Matthews was invisible at best and missing open nets in reality.

USA’s defense doesn’t let Canada get to the front of the net. Making Helle’s job easy.

So many forwards on Canada are invisible and they don’t have anyone dynamic enough on the backend without Makar.

I hate the Leafs. I wouldn't say he was excellent, but he had a good game. Was really solid defensively and his passes through the neutral zone were on the tape. He was a positive for his team tonight.

Ultimately that's the difference. Had the feeling USA's superior goaltending would give them the edge.

Hill should have started game 1 and game 2, Binnington did nothing but historical stuff for Team Canada and the Blues...Cooper shit the bed in G choice x 2
