Well, none of these guys were stupidly compared to Malkin. Byfield is unfairly judged based on stupid expectations.

He is a high risk high reward prospect and always was.

None of those players are as hyped as a Byfield has been.

Many posters were convinced that Byfield and Lafreniere were not very far apart in talent... That's shown to be very, very clearly false.

I think that it's a case of expecting more from the team and directing that frustration at the player that they especially expect more from. If the team were running away with every game and there weren't these stretches of close scores, we wouldn't see nearly so much focus on players like him who are believed to not be carrying their weight.
