In the USA game earlier today, Kaliyev and Caufield both finally got their first goals and it looked like a weight was removed from their backs and they were buzzing the rest of the game. I'd love to see the same thing happen for Byfield to give him similar confidence and energy.

Yes, about time they benched a guy with 3 ES points in seven periods who wins puck battles on a regular basis, including the turnover for Canada’s first goal, kills penalties and hasn’t been on the ice for a goal against.

With all due respect, I really do not understand why people post about how certain prospects are “busts” at 18 or 19.

I notice it in most of the WJC threads and again in this one. To me, we should be supporting these young men to succeed, even when they are our rivals prospects.

It makes the NHL deeper and enriched overall

And dozens of times where holding the puck opens up passing lanes exclusively because of his poise on the puck. Kid is having another dominant performance tonight. This game in general is completely lopsided and pretty boring given the outcome was never remotely in doubt.
