I'd start Hill for the final. He almost never goes down and hes more sound positionally. Binnington looks fatigued.

Binnington looks like he's lacking confidence. He can't catch any puck so he's fighting every shot. Every shot he's just hoping to get a piece of.

The Canadian forwards look like they lack confidence in Binnington also - they're all standing right in front of him expecting him to kick out the rebound. It leaves the slot wide open for shots because no one trusts Binnington to catch the puck.

The only person with confidence in Binnington right now is Cooper for some reason.

Doug Armstrong and the St Louis deep state gonna cost the NHL all star cup. Hope lessons are learned well before Olympics.

I'm not quite sure how you blame Binnington on any of those goals...
1st one post and in from the front. Nice D.
2nd one 6 on 5, tic tac play one timer with mega screen.
3rd one a wicked wrister with the D nowhere to be found.
Yeah, the first goal was just a perfect shot although it might look bad from that angle. Others were hardly on him at all.

Make Marchand - Bennett - Konecny the 3rd line for the final.

I would have chosen Robert Thomas over Cirelli. Cooper treating Cirelli as if he's Bergeron
Thomas will be on the 2026 team. Remember he was injured this season, I don't think they were confident he would be back in time to be named to the roster.

binnington is taking the longest detour ever on the hero to villian to hero character arc.

I want him to shut out the US just so I can read strangers opinions about it on the internet.

Jordan would likely throw a fit if Cooper told him he's not playing on Thursday. He must be paying Canada's coaching staffs grocery bill this month to be an automatic in net. The bias is unfair.

People who say we can't blame Binnington - let's put it this way.

If your doctor told you that your only chance to live was for Binnington to put up a .900 save percentage, you'd be preparing for death.

He doesn't have a .900 save percentage this tournament, behind a Team Canada defence. He doesn't have a .900 save percentage over 39 games in the NHL this season.

Sportsnet taked about this. Before the tournament Cooper said he's going to pick one goalie and stick with one goalie.

Would Cooper rather Canada win the tournament or be right? It's clear, he'd rather be right.

I haven't seen this much character assassination since 1998. Where Canada brought like 5 guys all literally named Rod Zamuner and were surprised they couldn't score on Hasek.

Patrick Roy was absolutely vilified by the Canadian media. And by 2002 the winningest playoff goaler of all time and reigning Conn Smythe winner was told he would have to sit for Curtis Joseph and Felix Potvin.

Bennington should sit out the next Olympics if this is the treatment he gets. It's a disgrace.

Yeah Binnington isn't Price in 2014 or Loungo in 2010 or Brodeur in 2002. He doesn't belong in a best on best tourney. Oh well. Canada isn't an unstoppable juggernaut this time. Letting Finland get 2 with the empty net is not ideal. Canada - US is going to be nucking futs.

Replace "Canadians" with "Oilers" and Binnington with Skinner and this sounds so familiar...

Also, Binnington is only slightly better than Skinner in GSAx so he's probably the worst goalie on the team based on recent play. I'm still confused as to why he was picked to be the starter. I know he won a Cup but 6 years is a long time, where as Adin Hill won the Cup two seasons ago.

On the other hand, with Makar back and the USA missing Hughes, our mid goaltending somewhat levels the playing field.

Cooper needs to put his ego aside and do what he knows is right. Maybe he's intimidated of Binnington to tell him that he's no longer the guy.

The U.S is much stronger on paper. But this isn’t a 7 game series. It’s one game. All it takes is one player to play out of his mind and that could be the difference in winning.
