What exactly was nonsense there?

Cooper needs to put his ego aside and do what he knows is right. Maybe he's intimidated of Binnington to tell him that he's no longer the guy.

The most infuriating thing is starting Hill today is a zero risk option. There is no chance in hell Hill plays any worse than Binnington did in Game 1 and 2. There is literally only upside.

Just couldn’t though due to a commitment to some dumb orthodoxy like “but he’s our guy!” or something similarly stupid. Someone needs to ask these idiots if they actually want to win or not as they barf out tropes like “but he’s the starter!”

Why are people whining about Binnington? Those last goals were not bad goals.

How about we just give credit to the Finns who had nothing to lose at that point and played as best as they could to try and come back. Great effort there from them!

It's like, unless Canada wins every game 5-0, a bunch of people in here panic after every game.

Now we'll have a chance to beat the US in an even more important game. Can't wait for the rematch! I'm expecting a lot from Makar, McDavid, MacK, etc. The team will win if the star forwards produce.

Grab a puck when your team is shorthanded. If you keep shooting out rebounds and scrambling it's eventually going to get in.

It did, twice, because of it. Both goals were the result of Binnington giving up rebounds. You can blame the defence for being out of position, but you'd have to equally blame Binnington for not being able to freeze a puck when he had the chance. You're always going to be out of position when you expect your goalie to be able to handle a puck and instead he's scrambling.

Hard for your defence to grab every rebound while being shorthanded. They were grabbing all the rebounds he was kicking out all game. Finland strategy was shoot and outman them for the inevitable rebound Binnington will give up.

Well it probably made a lot more sense to pick goalies who are actually having a good season instead of the sub .900 crew.

I'd trust Marc-Andre Fleury over Binnington. He was left off the team because he's older and we went with a sub .900 goaltending instead.

Who cares about his age, it's a four game tournament and Fleury has the 'experience' that they claim Thompson was overlooked for.

There was a lot of better choices than the 3 they picked. It should be pretty obvious the politics that went into a lot of these selections.

Hill and Montembeault wouldn't do any better.

Can they be worse?

Why not give someone else a chance instead of being scared of being wrong? The plan seems to be to say they can't be better and don't allow them to show they can be because then you'd be wrong.

So you're backing your way in to enjoying the tournament. But still can't come to say you were wrong. All good. Keep making your lame excuses for why you are paying attention.
If US loses, I won't care the slightest, but if they win, I will enjoy it because I know how much that will disappoint people like yourself who were pounding your chest after the big win vs Sweden. . Does that make sense?
