Dube with a goal 90 seconds in on the powerplay. Stuffed it in near the net.

Quenneville with the second goal of the game, also on the pp. Nice passing play, he only had to put it in the empty net. Steel with the primary assist, Bean with the other I think.

Quenneville scored another goal shortly after, assists to Steel and Dube.

Great comeback. Won on a shorty also.

Not surprising that Mikhail Maltsev and Andrei Altybarmakyan leading the way.

Bright spots: Berdin and Altybarmakyan(as he should).

Otherwise 2 periods of the same catastrophe as yesterday, followed by a period in which WHL just were already remembering their shopping lists it seems... and the Bragin-Effect. I don't know what he breaks during the breaks, but it works.

The defence is still abysmal. Slow, bad decisions left and right. The whle team with a ton of half arsed plays, bad clearing attempts, lack of vision and so on.

As good as the 3rd was on the scoreboard I am still not impressed with the overall performance, not in the slightest. And I am actually happy our WHL defencemen are gone now.

Does Berdin have a shot at being #1G for Russia at WJC or is there a guy who basically has the job already? Would love to have a Jets prospect playing regularly in team Russia

This is not a strong year for goaltending after a while for Russia. Berdin got under the radar a bit because of playing overseas and Sukhachev was considered the starter candidate. This series could easily change that. It looks like Berdin is at least a no.2 now. I can see him start the WJC as a no.1.

I doubt an underager will be invited. For the next two birth years there are already guys who made a name for themselves though.

I'm quite interested to see some of the OHL players. Particularly Kyrou, Thomas and Timmins. I want to see if Stanley can be effective as well. I don't particularly care about the QMJHL games this year given how few legitimate prospects for the WJC team are in that league.

Also, Russia just won a game and I am outraged! It's time for this series to become fair and make Russia divide its team into three parts as the CHL does! These results are too significant to allow Russian teams to have such an advantage! This conspiracy cannot be allowed to stand after last night!

The WHL lost, surely there is dirty tricks afloat!!

The WHL also beat them 7-0 the night before.

Russia is divided into two teams, though... As to three teams, who knows, probably in the future...

But we do part our team. Your attempt of being funny misfires here. Everybody is aware those are no top selections playing against eachother.

Not only two teams, but also plays the CHL players just like Canada only in the two games against the respective league. Counting in the injuries to all the best players it is a russian team from quite deep in the talent pool.

This is gravely serious stuff. Despite our national efforts to rig this most prestigious exhibition series, the mighty team WHL lost a game. It is time to divide Russia into three teams, as the CHL does with team WHL, team QMJHL and team OHL (even though team OHL is more like 1.5 teams as many players typically only play one game) and end this painful charade!

To break from conspiracy theories and tantrums though, in reality the results of this exhibition series, as already noted, are irrelevant. It is designed for player evaluation. I would certainly rather Canada's top players play well in a losing effort in this series than for Canada's top players to struggle as their teams pull off victories.

wow, the first game really exposed our weaknesses. Alsoo, bet you bragin wants them to see right away, that they are only best in the mhl, and serious competition is different. Once they get their ....s handed the real coaching starts.
Bragin collects their nuggets and keeps them in the bag, hands them out in break time :)
