Does anyone disagree with this statement: "Canadian NHL trained referees are the best in the world".
Yes, I disagree, and I'm serious. They are extremely inconsistent in standards and decision making in the NHL, there's no reason to think anything changes on international arena for better. FFS, there are some refs you just expect to work like trash when you look that they're reffing some match.
I hold that statement as true, it would be a crying shame if my European fans didn't know how much Canadians value fairness. Unfairness brings even our grown men to tears. If you knew us more, you'd love us more.
Tough as they come, but we are so kind and gentle.
:shakehead

I find it amusing that Canadians are being accused of cheating and being corrupt when it comes to sport by Russians so shortly after a huge amount of Russian athletes were banned from the Olympics for systematic doping.
Oh you mean like when the Russians bribed the French judge to win gold? Nah, that was fair and square.
I do not find it amusing when all Russian athletes (including ''clean'') were banned form the Olympics when at the same time American sportsmen used much more hard doping secretly and legally approved by WADA. This is an example of double standards.
And ofc it's policy, mainly because of bad relations between Russia and USA.
And to add, in federation of ANY country there are a lot of dirty sportsmen. But someone have right to do a bit more and eyes will be closed, if yo uespecially friend of USA.

We already beat you guys on your home turf at the last Olympics. What more do want?
Canada so superiour, so number one that they beat Russia even without playing with it in Sochi.

The IIHF penalty fest is terrible. NA hockey wants the players to control the outcome.

NHL refs are the best in the world, they know hockey.

Hey!!

We've always played hockey together. Even at the height of the Cold War. Show Canada some respect.

You guys skated off the ice before our anthem, if that were me I would apologize and be gentle.

You're actually funny. You have a consistent narrative, and you use your wit to insert jokes.

If I were a Yank like you, I'd be ashamed. 0-3?? Embarrassing. Your prediction proved false, fair call out. You are wrong and have no credibility.

I said there are people who disagree with that statement, I didn't say I personally disagree with it. I'm sorry I didn't make my initial response more clear but I edited to make it more clear.

I'm also not ashamed because a bunch of pro athletes embraced themselves. It made no difference in my day-to-day life.

Damnit Bean.

You apologized. I forgive you, and you knew I would. As a Canadian I accept your apology, I hope it was sincere.

1 - 0 Bergeron from Crosby
2 - 0 Toews on PP
2 - 1 Panarin after some russian pressure
3 - 1 Burns on PP
4 - 1 Burns from Thornton 2 on 1
4 - 2 Ovechkin from random slapshot
5 - 2 Pietro EN

I am a humble person whose only goal in life is to spread peace and love and understanding to all.

You are good, I give you that.

Too bad you are unable to admit when you learn new knowledge. Canada owns you friend.

You're welcome to apologize and be gentle any way :dunno:

You either call penalties or you don't. If you're in some middle ground, like the NHL refs (they call it whenever they feel like it), you decide the outcome much more.

Nope the players do. Can't wait to play Russia tonight, frothing at the mouth.

The Golden Era is well underway.

Think about 2018 and 2022, McDavid, MacKinnon, Drouin, Parayko, Murray, Ekblad, Schiefele joining up with the current generation.

Hockey is our game. Destroy the enemy.

Sorry America, in foreign diplomacy, Canada and Russia have more in common.
