You Ruskies out there, I tip my glass to you. We'll always have hockey.

Nah that post doesn't really make sense. Further, if you ask people which team has shown the least class in the last few years, I think most impartial people would have the same answer. That world juniors a few years ago is still well remembered

Seriously.

You've got Kuznetsov chirping the North American bench and flapping his arms like a clown. Yeah, those Russians know respect and class alright.

I want destruction. Pound of flesh, like we got against Kesler and the Yanks.

Our boys will destroy them, the Golden Era continues.

It is scary that this thread is just the pre game talk. Just imagine what the actual thread is going to be like once someone scores or shows any kind of dominance to start the game.

Kuznetsov was getting chirped by the bench, so he scored a beautiful goal, did a FIFA 17 celebration and chirped back. I see nothing wrong, he put the kids back in their place.

If you want to figure out if someone is getting close, organize a fairer and more balanced competition. Don't hold what amounts to a Roman circus, where the Christians are fed to the lions (check out the home crowd tonight) in the home den of the overwhelming favorite. Don't form a hybrid team of the best 23 and below NHL superstars from 2 huge hockey countries to play against tiny European countries! This tournament is only designed to entertain Canadian fans and to have the obligatory post-game celebration and rioting! It's a staged victory party - don't call it a competition.

Why does Canada or the NHL have to be the ones organizing tournaments in other countries? They organize an invitational in its own country. Every other country is allowed to try do the same. Problem with other countries is they can't hold a tournament even close.

His "celebration" was pathetic. Chirping back the bench was fine though. I don't like the chirping, but it was ok.

The best way to put them back "in their place" is to score. All the rest was being as immature as them. I hate when players act like that. The scoreboard is the best way to get back at people being arrogant towards you. Being as arrogant is just stooping to their level.

Wasn't Kuznetsov the one who slid in front of the Canadian bench back in his WJC days?

Yes, that was Kuznetsov. He has a long history of being a ****. Hopefully, Canada gives him no reason to cheer tonight.

Evrybody so excited but I expect that it will pretty boring... canada quckly **** russia without any miracle on ice. But I dont want it

He scored, Russia won the game and team NA was eliminated as a consequence. The team NA bench was chirping him the whole game, he scored, went to them and said "Something like that?" repeatedly. Nothing wrong. By the way, he didn't slide in front of the Canadian bench at the WJC, it was in front of the Russian bench at 1:50 of the video.

Kuznetsov's has made some wacky celebrations in the past, mostly in the KHL, but he has never been disrespectful towards his opponents. He even praised team NA in his intermission interview.

As I said, best way to shut people up is the scoreboard. Hopefully Canada wins big :)

However, as I also said this morning, I don't believe it will be an easy game. Bobrovsky has been on fire and that is enough to slow down Canada. I expect Canada to dominate possession and to get the better chances. I also expect Bobrovsky to keep it close and the Canadians to take penalties. If the Russian PP wakes up, we could be in trouble. If not, I am pretty confident Canada will win. Bobrovsky could steal it though and that is what scares me. If it were the best-of-three finals, I wouldn't be scared, but in a loser-goes-home match? Anything can happen.

And that should have been enough of a revenge. No need to "fly like an eagle" or whatever the **** he was trying to do.

But, meh, I might be way too old school on that matter

Kuzetsov celebration was awesome. Chirping the bench after scoring was really uncalled for but I guess he's the only player who get chirped on ice. :sarcasm:

Bob is going to have to go insane for Russia not to get embarrassed. The Canadians will have a field day with the Russian defense. Wonder if Canada can get into 50+ area shot wise?

I honestly wish this wasnt true as a Canadian but I think they are going to steam roll that D core.

Its really too bad the Russian D core is so weak because they have great forwards and goaltending.

I find it boring when Canada is this much better than everyone. Hope its a close and exciting game.

I fear I will never understand choreographed celebrations. There is nothing awesome about them, they are a useless sideshow that reeks of arrogance. I hate them in hockey, I despise them in soccer and I am glad when flag gets thrown for excessive celebrations in football. I don't think they can be excused by the "they are having fun" or "they are showing emotion" cop outs. Screaming out of happiness is showing emotion. Playing and enjoying the game is having fun. Pre-planned celebrations are just being a hot dog.

I guess I am too old at heart for the times I live in. I realize that more and more people find that acceptable and fun. I just disagree. If someone would to pull a celebration like that against me, I would likely get thrown out of the game (which is stupid, I know) because I kicked their ass. I guess arrogance is better than violence, even though I think we can do without any of those things.
