I really, really, hope he never reaches Olympic team when Olympic will be best on best again. What disrespectful moron.
What on earth are you on about? Good on the kid for not leaving his team that greatly depends on him -shows tonnes of loyalty- to go glory hunting playing in a watered down Olympics.

Agree. We should kick Crosby out of Canada for one declining a world championships invite too. LOSER!!!

Kid just spent a month away from school and his team to get completely underused by Canada at the WJC. He'd likely see even less ice time at this event. Plus the event is a joke of a tournament without real talent there.

I respect his decision.

Watered down Olympics are still space miles ahead of WJC U20 [mod]...he could decline that, it is not that he needs to boost his draft stock.

playing hockey is hard, he's likely still exhausted from WJC and now having to go back to JR

When your country comes calling you say yes.

He may never get the chance again.

Don’t understand this.

Maybe he values getting an education because he knows nothing is for sure?
Maybe he values his teammates and doesn't want to leave them again as a key player?
Maybe he doesn't want to go to South Korea?
Maybe he just wants to enjoy being a kid for a little bit longer?
Maybe is just isn't the best for his development...

At the end of the day it is his decision [MOD]

makes u think

What does it make you think? Cant wait to see this.

The guy values his UMass team and values loyalty more then anyone else. Leaving UMass to play in the World Juniors was a long time away already, probably wants to get back into some normalcy in his life and playing with the team he committed to 2 years ago instead of going on another whirlwind trip where he might not even get to play much again.

This is significantly better for his development.

At the end of the day it is his decision and anyone saying "when your country comes calling you say yes" is out to lunch.

How dare you be logical. He offended Canada. He. offended. CANADA.
