i didnt watch the game last night but it sounds like Frost obviously had a good game and is producing. I think hes going to make it. I read on twitter that Veleno had a very good start to the game and that was at 9:30 so he musta played well for most of the game. First game I watched Lafreniere had some nice chances but I'm worried if he doesnt get on the score sheet Canada might cut him because hes so young

Last night was also the second game of Vilardi and JAD not playing. I know I keep harping on this but they would be really dumb to take both imo. Obviously Hockey Canada knows more about the situation but theyre asking for trouble bringing a guy who hasnt played a real game and not got injured in it for a year. The quality of player they would have to cut is too high to take a risk with these guys.

You left out Studnicka bud and trust me he is making that team.

He was noticeable that first game and I liked him in the summer as well. But I also wouldnt be 100% certain that a late 2nd round pick who isnt producing that great in the OHL is going to make the team. They base this off of more than just the camp. I think the way hes played he would be on my roster over Vilardi or Anderson DOlan but I'm not sure Hockey Canada will see it that way

Would it be a shocker if Lafreniere got cut? Would they dare?
Some of these offensive players better start to produce.
Leason/Veleno/Lafreniere/Hayton/Ratcliffe.
Some on is going in that group.
Of that group, I couldn't imagine Hayton would be cut, he's a guy any team should want. My guesses of that group would be Ratcliffe or Lafreniere, solely because of age to go with his lack of scoring, as you've mentioned

Didn’t Lafreniere play one game? I heard he was decent. I think Hayron will make the team but he’s overated imo. Decent player but him going fifth overall was crazy.

Yeah by the sounds of it he played great in that one game, but because he's only 16 it's a curious case for him to make it if he doesn't put numbers on the score sheet... that's what we're wondering about.
As for Hayton, yeah he's definitely overrated a bit, but he's a really safe and solid centre. Going 5th probably shouldn't have happened but I guess people in Arizona know something we don't lol

If Formenton/Vilardi and JAD are good to go i can see keeping Lafreniere, but if those three are shelved or skeptic of re injury , they need to look around the room and get some experienced leadership to carry the mail. I just don't see him as ready for that.

Although this seems weirdly paradoxical, Lafreniere may actually stand a better chance at making the team by being a 16 year old than if he were 17. Team Canada cuts 17 year olds by the boatload, but very few 16 yo’s even get a camp invite. When they do it’s because there is an understanding that they are special players. With that being the case, look for team management to give him a bit more rope if he doesn’t hit the scoresheet than a rank and file 2000 born player.

Hello,

Please be advised that players who will make the team or have proofed themselves over the last 2 games vs U-sport. They do not need to play 3 games in 3 days. Those players are Studnicka and Hayton and possibly Frost depending on Vilardi is healthy enough. Please review all games carefully before you comment as i have spent hours reviewing their videos in order to predict what TC will be doing or should be doing.

Sorry for the confusion as i have replied on behave of DavidLam, i have been working with Davidlamb in analyzing TC management. So, i have replied on his behave. Davidlamb is working during the day, so i am replying on his behave.

Did you forget Hayton?
Hello,

Please be advised that as TC management will try to put together lines to test players, but you need to keep in mind to try to avoid having players playing 3 straight games. Hayton will make the team, hence there is no need for him to play 3 straight games.

He had no business being at this camp. Someone will have to point out for me what he brings to the table other than size and a right handed shot. Not fast, not big on effort, not a big shooter like a Stamkos or Ove. He is smooth and has one gear. Maybe he will improve but its the general lack of effort and urgency that troubles me the most.

Yes, let me ammend those all by a year. Lefreniere is 17 and the other guys on the bubble are mostly 18’s. Not sure why I had 16 in my head, but that aside, the logic still stands.

To be fair he did just turn 17 in October, after the start of the Season. So it's not like you were way off base

When are final cuts?

I've watched him play live this Season, and to say he was underwhelming would be a massive understatement.

Albeit, it was only one game...I'll likely get to see the Moosehead play at least a couple more times live this year. Hopefully it was just an off game.
