How has Entwistle been? I have mostly been forgetting about him because I've assumed he'll be cut eventually. Playing with Frost and Suzuki is interesting, maybe 1 last chance to prove himself? Meanwhile Foudy as the 13th forward is probably not a great sign for him, though I had him on the team. Can't imagine they cut Laf, especially not yet with the injuries.

Killed it off pretty easily, Frost sprung out of the box with a nice stretch pass (I think by Brook?)from near Canada's goal line, and made a nice little drop pass into the slot to one of the PKing forwards who fired it straight on the goalie

Playing him with 2 likely cuts....and on his off wing. Just really weird.
I suspect it could just be a mental test, the coaches wanting to see how he reacts under what could be called less then ideal conditions and still play an effective game. As talented as he is he is also barely 17 in what is mostly a 19 years old tournament and we know how much Hockey Canada loves their older players, all things considered they prefer taking the older players.

I suspect if he has a good showing in this game he's probably on the team.

Canada ices it in the last minute of the 1st. U-Sports wins the draw and gets a point shot that is tipped by Kris Bennett to put them up 2-0.

Period over.
Shots 10-8 for U-Sports

U-Sports has been winning most of the face-offs, the majority of them cleanly

Maybe on top of this point, might they be trying to see how versatile he can be on the wings? They've got a solid list of guys that can play the left wing, but not as many on the right side... that could be his path to making the team

That could be possible too, valid point. Even if he does make the team there is no telling where he would be employed, he has got to be able to slot at various places in the lineup, he won't be gifted top line or even second line duties just because of the hype around him.

Glass got dumped after DiPietro covered up and looks a bit shaken up, took a while to get up and skate off and was grimacing.

Puck is centered from the corner andShirley gets the puck in the slot, spins fires and beating Scott on the stick side to put U-Sports up 3-1

U-Sports come in 2 on 2, RW with the puck, the other skater gets inside on Canada's RD and the RW sauces it to him and he tips it past Scott, 4-1 U-Sports

U-Sports Clapperton with a partial break from the top of the circles down, gets a one-handed shot away, Villalta kicks it out to his right, Clapperton gets his own rebound, spins around and put it in. 5-1 U-Sports

End of the 2nd

Too many odd man rushes or what turn into odd man rushes. They don't quite look like they've gelled yet either, passing hasn't been great.
