Anyone else think the Slovaks finished the last 5 or so minutes with some questionable plays?
Just looked like some frustrated kids trying to take runs at Canadian players. Nothing resulted from it and Canada won, glad the Canadians stayed composed.

It really isnt if you actually watched the game last night and know that his analysis isnt good :sarcasm:
Hello,

Please provide your own analysis, I almost guarantee you that when Leason is back. He will take Lafreniere 's spot. The reason is very obvious : Lafreniere is just not quick enough. I wish that he is as quick and skilled as J. Hughes. I believe that you must be a 'hard-core red neck' Canadian that is why you like to disagree and deny.

After watching the game, i prefer to pick out the negatives on TC so that we all know and hopefully TC management will fix. The positives - we can watch TSN and hear them talking about because TSN is very good at that. The negatives are mentioned so that Canadians know about them and can improve on it. It is very useful from watching the games. Then , you pick out the negatives. This way, if you are a skill development coach, you can utilize video replay and point it out to your players.

I can pick out the negatives on each TC players as well, but that is too lengthy to write. Mainly, pick out the so-called worst negatives from TC to mention. Otherwise, i will be writing for at least 60 minutes.

If you have lots of time, please write your analysis as well. Please be as objective as possible as we know we are all TC fans. However, if you write like a fan, then the information is not very useful. So, please try to be objective.

Canada looked good, but Slovakia just looked awful. Finland should be a much better prep game

Kind of interesting that cg98 was criticizing the analysis of "hockeyanalyst99" and you are the one now replying in this manner, particularly given how very similar your posts are to those of "hockeyanalyst99".

Yeah Slovakia sat out their top forward line and D pairing. They also played a 2001-born goalie. They knew they would lose so I think they just scratched most of their top players.

He's made all the saves he's needed to, he's played a solid game. Can see him starting off against Finland
Imo, to get a true perspective on who will be the go to guy (Dipietro vs Scott), they need to face a legitimate contender.
Scott played well (23 shots)when needed, did his counterpart play well against the Swiss (3 goals/17 shots)?
Who was the best vs U sports, as they played 3 games at a higher level, higher level of competition than Swiss/Slovaks?

I'm saying I can see him starting the next pre tourney game, not for sure on Boxing Day. I'm 100% with you on the fact that they need to see some real competition to get evaluation on their goalies, which Finland should provide

Absolutely they were, they were the only two defensmen who could move the puck in the defensive zone. Smith got beat to the net once, other than that he made no mistakes in his own end.

Smith have been the worst defenceman so far in the last 2 games, he's been awful in the defensive zone.....

The only one that stood out so far is Mitchell, he play really well. Even Bouchard suck rght now, he only look good in the offensive zone and on the PP.

The defence overall doesn't look good so far.

I cant speak for last nights game, I didnt watch it but he was excellent in his own end against the Swiss. A couple times he lost his man in the neutral zone that could have turned bad against a team with more skill.

Slovaks have such a small number of registered players...there will always be years like this. They always do enough to stay at the top level but this team does not have anywhere near enough to cause a major upset...like they did last year.

Biggest concern for me so far is how bad Dobson has been. I was thinking he would be a work horse that takes the defensive matchups but hes looked horrible. Bad plays, been laid out a couple times as well. Something is just off with him

I did not mean that DavidLamb is a fan of hockeyanalyst99. Take a look at "their" posts and syntax.

Regarding Dobson, I don't see him as having been bad thus far. A little unsteady and some poor decisions with the puck like the other defencemen. I'm optimistic that he has a fair bit more to give. The game against Finland will be very illustrative for both the defence and the goaltenders.

He’s been poor this season, I thought it was a product of the team he’s on and to some degree I still do but if he doesn’t soon start to turn it around it’ll be time to wonder if maybe he isn’t as good as I originally thought. Also, possibly he’s injured to some degree... I know that most guys are banged up at this point but maybe there’s a lingering issue going on that we’re not aware of.
