Well I guess we are rolling with Brook on his left until it burns us against good teams and it hurts lol
Some real bold shuffling of the lines here.

Excuse me, we're going with "Jumbo" Joe Hicketts these days. This is feeling like little Joe Hicketts nepotism all over again.
Yup I have been on record that coaches with players that they have regularly worry me in this tournament that they won't use the player through an objective lens and it is pretty clear they are trying to make Brook on his off side a thing....when it really should not be a thing. The actual problem though is they didn't really give themselves much flexibility in the case that Brook on his off side didn't work out. So it is kind of sink or swim. This is feeling like little Joe Hicketts nepotism all over again.
Smith and Bouchard were the only ones that looked semi good yesterday. Everyone was a tire fire in their own zone, but at least Smith and Bouchard got the puck up to the forwards effectively and quickly.
Yeah, I think they have to be separated so we have at least two decent pairs. Brook might be the source of a huge headache for us unfortunatelyBrook and Dobson should not be on the first pairing.
I’d like to see more of Smith and Bouchard together, they were the best pairing when they got on the ice together.
It’s tough though, Bouchard and Smith are our best puck movers so we probably need them on separate pairs.
Absolutely they were, they were the only two defensmen who could move the puck in the defensive zone. Smith got beat to the net once, other than that he made no mistakes in his own end.I don't buy this. None of them were good enough. Certainly none stood out worth mentioning over any of the others

At least our forwards look great and should be able to set the tone. Good goaltending is also a must. Canada is definitely strong enough to defend their gold medal, but they do have more weaknesses than I'd like. Hopefully the coach being too attached to an underwhelming player isn't one of themYeah, Bouchard and Smith are going to need to anchor their own pairings and hopefully Dobson steps up on his own as well, but he’s been pretty poor this year.
I’m hoping Brook plays well but I have major concerns with him, especially on his off side.
These games are so competitive and fast in this tournament, you need D men you can rely on in pressure situations and Brook on the top pairing on his offside is worrying to say the least.
I really wish we would have taken at least one defensive minded shut down type D man instead of all out offence. Maybe Phillips is that guy but we’ll see. I don’t like the softness of our D core.
I would love to see the tracked zone exits, I believe it would be clear Smith and Bouchard were quite a bit ahead of the other defensmen. Memory will fool us all.Not what I saw.. They all had their moments...good and bad. To say they were the only ones that could move the puck up .. is just flat out wrong.

Wasn't ideal, it was a light shot from the point that was misplayed and it ended up on the tape of the Swiss FWD.What did you think of Bouchard on the first goal?

Shitty bounce, could happen to anyone. What did you think of Bouchard on the first goal?
Every player makes mistakes. The good ones like Bouchard more than make up for it through strong play overall. Most of the other defensemen don't bring that as of yetWhat did you think of Bouchard on the first goal?
McIsaac is that type of defenceman. Obviously you'd rather a defenceman who excels in all areas, but that is the type of game McIsaac plays. He's not going to be an all star in the tournament but he could complement a more daring RD. He's tough enough for this level of hockey in this era but his skating isn't elite. I'm still surprised that they didn't take Joseph, who as far as I can tell does everything Phillips does defensively but adds more offence.
What the TSN theme song called? The one that they use in all the intros. It's kinda catchy.
This?
They've been using that for a long time now. I don't know if it has an official name. It's basically the World Juniors anthem in Canada.
With all the talk going on about Lafreniere, I've tried to watch him more closely, and I've noticed he's really good at making simple plays. A lot of young players in this tourney would more likely try to show off their skills and get noticed but he really plays for his teammates.
He's made all the saves he's needed to, he's played a solid game. Can see him starting off against FinlandHow has Scott looked tonight? Just getting home and haven't had a chance to watch. Was he tested at all?
