Can Bedard challenge for Peter Forsbergs record?

Bedard certainly is up there. Helminen had a 24p campaigne, on a team Finland who was a lower tier team.

Bedard is more dynamic than Tavares, and better finnisher than Eberle. Then we have Shenn, Hodgeson and Lindros tourments. But Bedard beats out Tavares and Eberle for me, but vs Gretz or Schenn- I cant tell.

Does a true sportsman also pump a non-hockey nation for 10 points in a 20-1 win? Seems like a weird place to draw the line and invalidate Gretzky over 1 goal but have no problem with 10 points from forsberg. How are forsbergs points still "clean" in this situation?

He didnt interfere the goalie or another guy badly? The goalie hadnt a chance to save Gretzkys puck.

Japan was an awful match for juniors. For some reason Forsberg wanted to give the home audience a show, 20 goals . Thats harsch, but I guess both Näslund and Forsberg hunted records. I bet Forsberg wanted Näslund to reach his goalrecord. I think he had like nine assists in that game.

Re-read my comment, and maye it's your English, but I actually stated "at this age" during the comparison. You need a break.

”Meltdown”? Because I thought it’s ridiculous to compare a kid with legends based on the kids play vs kids? I don’t care what country someone’s from, or if they feel the need to “jump” on that notion, but I am very tired of seeing this awful patriotism some, including you, have for some players, just because you’re born in the same country as someone you don’t even know or have any other reason to be proud over more than that you have the same-looking passport.

He was always going to wait until after the '94 Olympics before coming over. His dad was the coach and growing up I'm pretty sure his dream was Olympics. European's weren't as exposed to the NHL back then enough for the Stanley Cup to be their sole dream.

How many euros played in the NHL in the early 90s? Climate was different back then, but i am guessing you are not so old.

Yeah that Sweden team was a real underdog. Won silver, lost only one game (by a single goal), +38 goal differential (+19 even if you remove the Japan game entirely) and having the two top scorers in the tournament, a 3rd also in the top 5. Meanwhile Canada didn't have a single player top 10 in scoring.

sundstrom really? HE was an average player.

Sweden as a team was abmysal outside of forsberg and naslund

Forsberg > Bedard.
