Holl had an excellent game, although I must admit I screamed at him when he flubbed that pass out of the D zone in the final 30 secs.

holls reach is just so damn effective at shutting down chances in transition. he just reaches out and is like

If I’m Buffalo, you’d need to send Robertson or sandin for ullmark. I seriously think he is their best player right now.
Bernier, maybe he works, would be weird seeing him back, still get a chuckle out of some of the goals he would let in when he was here.
But agree with the idea, get a 1A/1B and split duties, hopefully save a couple mil in cap and use it elsewhere

Goalie rentals are not worth much, and even top goalies don't get top prospects.

Ullmark will come a lot cheaper, and if not we can turn to a bunch of other options.

You’d look like the biggest idiot if you were Buffalo and asking for either Robertson or Sandin in return for Ullmark who’s got like 20 games left in a Buffalo jersey.

Well it’s been 36 games already and the “damn” hasn’t broken yet, at this point I’m just hoping they are going to show up for the playoffs and be useful because as of now our $11m captain has become an average 2C and our supposedly 4th best forward is a good 2nd liner. These guys should be able to play with anyone as their 3rd and feast against other teams, looking at last year, nylander-Tavares-Mikheyev/kerfoot/Engvall, they all worked, that line would dominate others and would sometimes be our best line, this year, maybe 2 games that line as been better then the Matthews line for a complete 60, but maybe last year was an outlier as nylander was on pace for 37 goals
I think you're misinterpreting what 1st line production looks like. Nylander is on pace for 30/30, Tavares on pace for 65ish pts. Landing at 70+ point paces is a minor increase from where they are, and both are well into 1st line production territory

That's because he's always in position I think. He's barely ever caught swimming.
Yes/no. He's been solid positionally, but even the best positional goalies have to make big and key saves.

He hasn't had to steal a game because the teams played well enough to win with stable goaltending.

Fair enough. With the absolute dumpster fire the sabres are in maybe it would be better to sell good pieces for assets and go tank 2.0 for Wright and Bedard. If they do want to “try and contend”, their best hope would be to keep ullmark and get a backup

I'm hoping the "we can't keep outscoring our problems" crowd from the last 2 years is satisfied this season. We're winning playoff-style games - not relying on the PP, not getting outshot 35-20, not trading end-to-end odd man rushes. In the playoffs it's just going to get better, Muzzin, Holl, and Bogo will get away with even more barely-legal interference and more of the game will be at ES.

Oh shit..... may or may not remember ullmark is a ufa + value I said is too high, probs like a 1st and 2nd like Andersen got maybe more maybe less I think

Jets relying on goaltending, special teams, and league leading 5on5 High Danger Shooting Percentage

Not a recipe for success

Strong goaltending, special teams, and capitalizing on your high danger chances isn't a recipe for success?

Sounds pretty good to me.

Another very decent game by Galchenyuk, hoping the trend continues. Was reading a bit on the habs board - immediately they are losing their minds with the Leafs opening a bit of room and remaining 1st in the division. They are absolutely fixated on the media and how SN apparently only talk Leafs. It's a wonderful byproduct of the Leafs being in first - Montreal fans losing their minds
