Finding reasons to watch Kings games is only getting harder. I can only imagine how much of a mess our locker room will be after the deadline when Clifford, Campbell, Martinez, and Toffoli are all gone. This trade is gonna sting for quite some time for me.

Kinda funny to hear people say they tune into Kings games to see Clifford play...

My two cents..

Don't mind the deal at all. I like that the conditional 3rd can become a 2nd if Cliffy resigns or the Leafs make the playoffs and Campbell wins 6 games in the process. Worst case if condition(s) are not met, we still net a 3rd next year.

Interested to see how Jack does with the Leafs especially if Freddy is out longer than expected. Like LA, the Leafs defense isn't the best corps to play behind.

We add another pick (via Columbus) this year in a good draft.

Trevor Moore (25 in March) will add some speed to the forward group. Kid is a hard worker who was pretty solid in the AHL and an important piece of their Calder Cup team a few years earlier with Grundstrom.

Best of luck to Clifford. Leafs needed a guy like him who has playoff pedigree and can lead. That's a good add for their room.

I did.

This shouldn't surprise this board though.

Was nice seeing someone give 100% every night and stand up for teammates.

Like I said I'll just watch Quick let in softies and Wagner miss the net on breakaway's the rest of the season. I'm pumped.

We are 29th overall in the league and have been almost the entire season....the only thing worth watching at this point is the upcoming draft.

Blake is the one who signed Campbell to that extension prematurely, creating the waiver logjam and limiting his value in trade. Backup goalies with extended contracts are never going to provide much in return. No doubt he was extended so he could have been expansion draft fodder 15 months from now, but its not like Quick is in danger of going to Seattle if Petersen proves himself.

Blake lived thru a not so good situation his last season in Colorado and when he returned to the Kings in 2006-07 with beachball in net, well it had to shape his thinking then about depth in net. Especially with an aging Quick, however...

I got wind of the trade yesterday morning, but it wasn't Campbell who was going with Clifford. I tossed up a clue on the TO fan board yesterday mentioning Muzzin and TO needing a forward who can fight, has some ability to score and isn't necessarily a Reaves type player. Plus some other players like a defensive first 4th line center who the Kings also have and is a UFA next season.

I was originally puzzled by moving Campbell with Quick's injury history the last few seasons. But with the rumor TO has zero confidence in Hutchinson coupled with Campbell's salary and opening up a real shot for Peterson, it did make allot of sense for the Kings, TO i am not so sure as I don't see Campbell faring any better with TO's weak defense.

I suspect Lewis and Toffoli will not be in a kings uniform on 2/25/20.

Kings fans again overhyping a player who has never scored more than 3 NHL goals in a season, just another Matt Frattin.

Like the return for Soup, hate losing Clifford.

First Kobe then Clifford. Ugh.

I like it. Moore & a conditional 3rd for a pending UFA (who could still sign back with the Kings) & a 3rd for a backup goalie, who was blocking Cal, is fair value. So this could turn out to be a deal of Moore, a 2nd (if Campbell wins 6 games & the Leafs make the playoffs), and a 3rd for Campbell, if Clifford signs back with the Kings? You take that and run.
Yeah, I don't understand the "we didn't get enough" crowd. What did they expect to get back for Campbell and Clifford in separate deals? A 3rd for each guy plus Moore is about as much as you can get.

Man talk about heart break last night. I have prepared myself for martinez and toffoli leaving but was not ready to say good bye to Clifford. Not saying it is not a good thing just that once it went down it caught me off guard.

First thought of the deal was that we did not get enough, but that is when I read on twitter that the 2nd 3rd round pick was conditional and if conditions were not met LA would not be getting it. Now that I know the full conditions it is probably a fair price.

I think of the deal like:
Campbell = 3rd.
Clifford = Cond 2nd (that is likely a 3rd) + moore

I don't know enough about Moore and with Anderson out maybe Campbell can get 6 wins for the f***ing leafs.

Hate to see Clifford go but needed to be done. Sure sounds like Martinez was close to being part of the deal.

A question for you from an outside fan; why didn't Campbell get more starts this season? Is it a case where the stats are lying to me, the team's loyalty to Quick, or just a case of a coach not doing the right thing?

The details will never truly be known, as nothing was ever said.

My gut: since Quick hasn't been to form, they wanted to give him a chance to get his game back.

The Kings were always going to lose a goaltender somehow, someway, to make room for Petersen by the start of next season.

Saw this late last night. My thoughts on it, I think it's a pretty fair deal looking at it right now. We can gauge the trade more after the deadline and compare it to similar player trades. I think if the conditions work out it's definitely a win for us.

I'm so ****ing sad boys.
And I feel ya! I understand the hurt lol It was the same for me when we traded Simmonds.

Definitely a bummer losing Cliffy. Campbell's career turnaround was great to see. I wish both of them the best in Toronto. They'll be missed.

Maybe the Kings re-sign Toffoli?

Lewis is gone for sure. I’m fine with keeping Martinez. Forbort, Ryan and Hutton are gone. Though I can see the Kings re-signing Hutton.

First as one of Clifford longest and biggest fans on this board I will be sad seeing him go. I also watch King games to see him so there are more then one person doing so.

Now as for the return we got the best return out of the players we sent. The hard part of this trade is I will now have to route for the leafs to make the playoffs and Campbell to win 6 games between now and then. The key to this is hopefully Anderson is out for a while and Campbell gets a fast few wins before he gets back.

I have all kinda hope Cliffy will be back in July 1 If not i will end up following him where ever he ends up. I just want to point how out how ironic it is to see people who thought Clifford would have been gone before king and nolan now saying good things about him It shows how two faced this fan base really is

Moore will be a fiesty player, who's not a prima-donna skilled forward that doesn't play defense, who hasn't had much
opportunity to spread his wings offensively. He'll not only love the opportunity, but love the community as well.
He's a young player who can give years of service to the club, where Clifford is getting up there in years on a club that
is rebuilding. It just makes sense for everyone. And just because Clifford is on another club, doesn't mean he automatically
doesn't like the friends and fans of L.A. so why should they turn their back on him? There's nothing wrong with at least
cheering him on, even if you don't like the Leafs. I never stopped loving Wendel Clark after they traded him for some
Swede.

What do you think Lewis is worth? a 4th?

Do you mean gone via trade, free agency or both? because I do not know what market would be out there for Ryan and Hutton.

I also would be ok with Hutton being re-signed.

I will cheer for Muzzin and Clifford's individual success...not sure I could stomach the leafs winning though haha

I really don't see the hype in Moore.

He can skate and play mildly "gritty" but the offensive production isn't there.

He's basically a poor mans Brendan Leipsic.

Ya, did Toronto need to move a contract to make this deal work? because I would rather play Frk or someone from AHL to see what we have.

At the end of the day, Blake has made 2 very timely deals from a position of strength before the TDL. Both with Toronto ironically.

He now has:
Bjornfot
Grundstrom
Durzi
Moore
and 2 draft picks no worse than 2 3rds, a potential 2nd
in the hands of the Kings scouts who have been hitting homeruns lately.
From:
Muzzin UFA
Clifford UFA
Campbell 1.65 perhaps a pass there $

If he wanted to, he could even try to sign Muzzin and Clifford this summer to add to insult how great these deals have been for Blake.

Kings are rebuilding, it has been text book extortion of how to maximize value from a desperate team looking to upgrade.

Blake has sure shown me, he is quite capable of rebuilding the Kings.

I agree with you except Muzzin had a year on his deal and not a UFA when he was dealt

Correct. But and that made him more valuable a trade target than waiting to this year. I really like how Blake read that too. Kings didn't need him no longer on a rebuild.
