This need to stop! Some of you guys are forgetting what Hank did before the injury.

20gp 16-4 0.938 SV% 1.82 GAA

That is Hanks last 20 games before he went down. Talbot is not even close to that during his stint as starter.

Talbot and the team have been great but enough is enough.

Skapski is 1-0-0 (100% win-rate), a SV of .960, 1.00 GAA, which is tons better than Lundqvist! Didn't you get the memo where Lundqvist is only worth 1.22m, if you look at his stats and compare that to Talbot?

Well, if you compare it to Skapski, who earns 800k, the King is only worth 655k

Okay, that's enough for today. I just hope the Talbot groupies can now finally stop saying we should play him in the play-offs, when Lundqvist is healthy again. Lundqvist plays every game in the play-offs, unless he breaks something (excluding records of course) or lets in 5 goals in a game, to get pulled.

This MAY lead to Hank possibly being pulled in a game, but no way in hell does he not start the next one.

As an aside, I merely threw out the Patrick Roy trade example to demonstrate that Hank would probably not return what was suggested earlier. It's silly to discuss trading Hank; he goes nowhere.

That was my point. Talbot won't start a play-off game unless Lundqvist is injured or suspended.

Patrick Roy is not really a comparable. There were some issue going on, and it was 20 years ago.

Today we have a cap which complicates things. It would depend a lot on leverage. Would it be 'we must move him now bc of A B C' or if someone makes a crazy offer, in which case someone might.

Either way, it's not happening. He's the face of the franchise, a future HOFer, marketing giant for the team, and has carried them kicking and screaming into the playoffs. He's won a gold medal, been to the finals, and some people want to move him bc Cam is having a good run.

some reason reading that brought back a memory of when Lundy sprayed Crosby with the water bottle. I was actually so paranoid, I turned to my friend and was like "yo.. you think Henke might get suspended for that? Is Talbot ready?"

Only in the NHL would a player get suspended for spraying water on an opponent...

Some of you act as though it's asinine to suggest that Talbot is or could be as good as Hank. I agree mostly that it's difficult to really forsee a day that Talbot is considered the absolute best in the NHL or eventual HoF player. However, with that said, most of us are too emotionally attached to Hank to really be fair judges. You really don't know what Talbot can be, and the fact we know what Hank is (probably the best NYR goaltender ever) warrants our loyalty, but claiming there is zero chance Talbot is as good or could project to be as good as Hank is foolish and asinine in its own right. Guy is playing great hockey right now and it's a pleasure to watch him in his starter stint. As for Hank, do I think we overpaid, yes, but he's still an elite goaltender and management has been pretty good working the cap so it's not deadly to the team. Guy deserves it for carrying a bunch of mediocre teams to playoff berths.

Lundqivst is going to the hall of fame. Lundqvist doesn't have to play another game in Rangers history and he still would go down as the greatest Rangers goalie, that's not up for debate. Hammond on the Sens, has just had 10 straight games of 2 goals or less, should we dump Talbot for him?

Look at any number of goalies who have had awesome 10-20 game stretches. How many of them are sure hall of famers and how many of them would be the best goalie in franchise history in a franchise like NYR? Very few.

It is definitely far out to assume that talbot has a good chance of being a hall of fame goalie based on what we've seen on him.

This is crazy, Cam was horrible before this stretch now he's great. But let's not forget that he's human. You don't know how many of those stretches he was on earlier he has in him.

Oh yes it is. As I have said time and time before if Lundqvist doesn't win a cup here he will go down as just another player who was a great Ranger and fell short of the ultimate goal.

Mike Richter is currently the greatest Rangers goalie of all time. Mike Richter has 301 wins and a Stanley cup. I don't care what the records are. Records are skewed because Richter played in the era of the tie and to complicate matters more he played many years on bad teams.

Hank won the friggin Gold medal when he was younger than what Talbot is now. Talbot is a good goalie but he will never ever be as good as Hank.

What this entire situation has shown me, more than anything, is that Benoit Allaire is worth his weight in gold. Lock him up forever.

I am the biggest Mike Richter fan, my childhood idol...the only jersey I wear to MSG, and ever will.

That being said, he didn't win the cup himself, the 94' team won the cup. He was just a part of it.

Henrik Lundqvist is the greatest goaltender the Rangers have ever had, not only statistically, but skill wise as well.

If he wins a cup, its just icing on the cake. I want nothing more than for him to win it. He deserves it more than anyone for what he's done here.

So do I!

The rest of your post I disagree with the majority of it.

You might always wear the jersey, but I carry the guy on my back in the form of a tattoo.

Skapski > Talbot > Lundqvist

:sarcasm:

Really though, we're very fortunate to have good goaltending through the system. Talbot has been lights out lately, Skapper has seen his stock skyrocket this year, Shesty and Halverson are very good prospects, and, well, Hank is one of the greatest in the world.

So stoked to see what Hanks response is going to be. Is some kind of job-losing fear envoked? Or is he going to step his foot down and claim his **** right back?
