That doesn’t say anything about ByfieldDevelopment isn't linear, especially for bigger players, especially for centres, shall I go on?

Are you comparing him to Fox and Gaudreau because they are all tiny? Because Wolf would be the smallest NHL goalie if he made it.Wolf is going to be a top 5 goalie. He’s elite. I can’t say what Byfield is gonna be but people that are calling this the ‘worst proposal ever’ are clueless.
I agree goalies are voodoo but this kid is special. He’s every bit the prospect Adam Fox and Johnny Gaudreau were (and I was the guy getting laughed at in the top 50 prospect threads for super-hyping Fox abd Gaudreau-which I’ve never done for any other prospect) He’s just special. Nuff said.
The kid almost set a shutout record in the WHL, despite not playing his 20 year old season. Despite being backup to Carter Hart in his first year. Despite playing through 2 covid shortened seasons. Abd yet he still almost set that record then he goes and wins AHL goalie of the year, and he should have won MVP of the whole league at 20.
Partially. Which is why he fell. Mostly because he’s put up historic numbers and pretty much dominated at every level he’s played post draft. Are you comparing him to Fox and Gaudreau because they are all tiny? Because Wolf would be the smallest NHL goalie if he made it.
Actually that title would go to Saros, last year’s Vezina finalist. Wolf has a solid inch on him which makes him the same height as Raanta, DeSmith etc.Are you comparing him to Fox and Gaudreau because they are all tiny? Because Wolf would be the smallest NHL goalie if he made it.

That doesn’t say anything about Byfield
How is he developing compared to others?Byfield isn't developing?
Byfield isn't a bigger player?
Byfield isn't a centre?
Are you sure you know what player were all talking about here?
I sure did, simply say because he is big and he is a center he deserves time doesn’t cut it
Did you even read the post you are answering to?
How is he developing compared to others?
There are literally 100s of big center in the minor. Are they all going to be special also?
I sure did, simply say because he is big and he is a center he deserves time doesn’t cut it
What makes you think he's a potential 1st line C? He's not even as good as Adam Ruzicka. He was a bad pick. He's not even an NHL caliber player at this point. He's trending to being a bottom 6 player at best. There are hundreds of 6'5 220 pound potential 1st line C's in the minors, really?
He has 5 points in 6 AHL games as a 20 year old, power forwards typically take longer to develop, especially bigger guys with good hands, who's legs are learning to match the rest of their skills, this is typical of the NHL and always has been. What makes you think he's a potential 1st line C? Yeah sorry Preds fans but you're stuck with SarosNobody will give something good for a midget goaltender, Flames fans are desillusional.
The only sucessful undersized goaltender in modern area. Incredible athleticism.Yeah sorry Preds fans but you're stuck with Saros
Halak, Stalock, Raanta, Nedeljkovic, Nabokov, Bernier, Khudobin, Thomas, OsgoodThe only sucessful undersized goaltender in modern area. Incredible athleticism.
Can't becouse by then they were already playing in the big leaguesHe's a career .923, .925 if you include playoffs. Name a single goalie with better AHL stats through age 21.

Thats exactly why I mentionned in modern era. Others ones are average back-ups.Halak, Stalock, Raanta, Nedeljkovic, Nabokov, Bernier, Khudobin, Thomas, Osgood
but ok
Wtf is the modern era to you McDavid's 1st game and forward? Most hockey fans would say it's the start of the cap era, which all of those goalies have played inThats exactly why I mentionned in modern era. Others ones are average back-ups.
Thanks for proving my point.
As of right now he’s not an NHL player, that part is true.He has 5 points in 6 AHL games as a 20 year old, power forwards typically take longer to develop, especially bigger guys with good hands, who's legs are learning to match the rest of their skills, this is typical of the NHL and always has been.
Not an NHL caliber player, is absolutely laughable, he's 20 years old, like my god are people quick to forget this.
The guy your comparing him to is 3 years older, not sure why your comparing the two players, especially given my points.
There are tons of goalies who played in the A at a later age and had much worse stats lol. Not many that have better is my pointCan't becouse by then they were already playing in the big leagues
Calgary’s elite later round picks + butt hurt fans from other teams.
Name a better combo
Ruzicka? Fml flames fans are on tilt in this thread…..What makes you think he's a potential 1st line C? He's not even as good as Adam Ruzicka. He was a bad pick. He's not even an NHL caliber player at this point. He's trending to being a bottom 6 player at best.
You obviously know tons about goalie development. Can't becouse by then they were already playing in the big leagues
none of those players had a fraction of the success Dustin did. He’s elite. Sorry that hurts your feelings.Flames fans puffing out their chest that they have a can’t miss franchise goalie sitting in the minors…..name a better combo.
Over the years we have heard about Leyland Erving…..Jon Gilles……Tyler Parsons….and for the oldies in the crowd Brent Krahn…..all supposedly the next big thing in net.
Maybe just wait to see what Wolfe does in the NHL for a season first before walking around this site telling other teams how much their player sucks compared to your goalie prospect.
That's not the point he made, he said NHL caliber that's much different and asinine to say at 20As of right now he’s not an NHL player, that part is true.
Definitely has top line potential though, if his IQ can ever develop to keep up with his tools.
