Pretty sure Chicago did after their cup win in 2010, or they just played bad.

I remember this very good.

Chicago reach play-off as 8th seed and then finish in first round of PO against Vancouver (with overtime goal in game 7).

But the best part was last day of regular season. Chicago needed a point against Detroit to secure PO and lost in regular time. This was afternoon game. Immediately after ending this game Dallas started their last game at home against Minnesota, that played for nothing. Dallas needed a win and would secure a PO spot instead of Chicago. But they lost...

What do you consider cheap?

If Stoll loves it in LA as much as he says he does, 2 years at $2M per year.

If I am Dean I can't give more term than that based on what I am seeing from Richards, and knowing that Stoll is just slightly ahead of him on a declining curve.

Stoll will be the 4th line center if he is here next season. He has to understand his value to THIS team, or move on.

And Richards should be gone no matter what happens with Stoll.

Yeah was going to go back and edit 'dishonest' on review, wrong word probably. But I think you get my point, he's only recently started to pick up the scoring and hasn't had much of a chance to correct it. But that really goes for the whole team...but he does need to lead the way. Will have plenty of a chance coming up!

Before Kopitar got 20 points in the last 11 home games, he was lacking production at home too. Then it turned around. And with hockey being weird, Kopitar didn't do much on the 6-0 home stand, but had 9 points in the 7 games at home in the last few weeks, and the Kings won 1 game.

So yeah, you're right, it's not completely fair. Kopitar could easily go out and get 11 points in the next 6 road games, and the Kings still might not win. He could get 2 points, and they could win 5 of 6.

I wouldn't resign Stoll at even 2 million. The Bottom six needs a rebuild, If Lombardi brings back Stoll at 2 million, it better be for only one year.

Which I doubt Stoll would sign on for. Stoll is going to want term, in exchange for a (slight) reduction is salary, just like Greene got.

Would rather the Kings fill that spot with someone more cost controlled, and younger.

Exactly why I don't want him back. But we can't lose both Richards and Stoll in the same year, so one of them has to stay. We can't have 2 new bottom 6 centers next year.

Why not ?

Stoll and Richards are both big reasons why the Kings Center depth is poor this year . Why would anyone want to keep either guy ?

The Flames have 6 of a possible 6 points against the Kings this year, including 2 wins in LA where they came back in the 3rd to win in OT. The Kings have 2 against the Flames. That 4 point swing is obviously huge.

5 goals on 95 shots for the Kings, which is a .947sv% for the Flames. 8 goals on 66 shots for the Flames, which is a .879sv% for the Kings.

Gaudreau - 3g, 2a, 5pts
Hudler - 0g, 4a, 4pts
Monahan - 1g, 2a, 3pts
Wideman - 1g, 2a, 3pts
Giordano - 1g, 1a, 2pts
Russell - 0g, 2a, 2pts
Glencross - 1g, 0a, 1pt
Granlund - 1g, 0a, 1pt
Brodie - 0g, 1a, 1pt

Lewis - 1g, 2a, 3pts
Brown - 0g, 3a, 3pts

So, Quick plays like crap the Kings score when needed. Quick plays well, the Kings can't score. 3 goals in 7+ periods of play, 1 of those goals against a 3rd stringer. :shakehead

Kings have never been this poor since the Murray days...seriously thank god our division is weak this year or else byebye

What a **** game. LA outshot Calgary but I do not think they out chanced them or made it hard on Ortio. Does someone at staples have it out for Quick SP% cause Calgary had way more shots then they were credited for (that mostly pisses me off because I have quick in Fantasy)
The only line that looked remotely interested in working the cycle was Richards and Nolan, and they have as much chemistry as me and a Kardashian resulting in them passing into each other's skates.
Why the hell was Carter stuck with Shore and a rotation of Clifford and King?
Why the hell did it seem like clifford played on every line and even on the top PP line!
How many times are the Kings going to let a team tie it up in third? Remember when a lead in the 3rd was pretty much a slam dunk?
And what the hell is with the overtime/SO record! On paper sutter should be able to put together great four on four hockey pairings.
I still think LA will get it together and make the playoffs, but **** was last night a piss off.

Lombardi needs to start moving on with players. He made the mistake with Mike Richards and Matt Greene. It's time to move on from Stoll. Shore can fill in that position and we have to start upgrading on D and the bottom 6. Trevor Lewis, Jordan Nolan, Mike Richards are just not cutting it anymore. Kyle Clifford has been amazing, though.

To be fair though, Ortio is a young guy and he's not really thought of as a 3rd stringer in our organization. He was playing in the AHL this season because that is where his development was best suited. He is considered to have legit starting potential and last night was a display of why. There's a reason a reason he has started the last 4 consecutive games and that is quite simply because he's been our best option to win games. I thought last night that Ortio was the main reason we won that game.

Next year he's on a one way deal and it's entirely plausible that he could see more games than Hiller.

The Kings need a Center that can log 18+ minutes a night, and pitch in on offense. To help stabilize everyone else, they need the same on Defense.

Top four Defender, bottom six/ tweener top six Center. That way, certain players (Richards/Stoll/McNabb//Greene) go back to playing roles they can be successful in.

Why I'm not worried...

stoll has had some good game's this year, but I think his days as a king are numbered. I was hoping he was going to be moved out in the offseason last year to fit in Vey. Now I am hoping he is moved out as Shore or Lewis can take his spot and not hurt our depth.

Why move Stoll when he loves it here, and likely can be re-signed on the cheap in the off season. Stoll would be the best 4th line center in the division for the next couple of years.

Because not only is he not getting it done offensively, his predictable penalties are shooting us in the foot a lot. Unfortunately, he's only going to get worse.

I don't see Stoll resigning cheap enough for it to make sense to keep him. Imo, Stoll and Richards are playing at a level that is worth about half their current salary. So if Stoll will resign for 1.5, then ya we should keep him. I don't see him taking that big a paycut though. I think he'll want more like $2.5 and he isn't worth that.

Carter's last 25 games have not exactly been good. I'll post the stats.

So Carter has been part of the problem as well. I'll do last 30 games.

30GP 5 G 13 A 18P -9...Not exactly good.

Carter hasn't been tearing it up but haven't most of those last 30 games been at wing? Does anyone have stats for Carter as a center vs wing? He seems to be considerably better when playing center these days.

I meant the people who say "**** this team" without contributing to discussion (which I have done, but jokingly of course)

And I was just pointing out and clarifying what someone else was saying. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

You were right.

Can't stand the bull **** comments about a team that has given us fans two titles in the past thee seasons. I still can't believe some of the **** I read in the GDTs.

Starting to annoy me. Kings just keep losing in OT and SO. You would expect elite teams win in tight games.

On top of that, you should have 2 points and Calgary none.

Now we have 1 point and the Flames 2. We are talking about are 3 point games here and they blew it.

The Kings manhandled the Flames for most of the game, except for some brief stints in the 3rd and OT. If Hiller had been in net the Kings score 6 goals. It was fun to watch Ortio do his thing but "let's be honest" if he doesn't stand on his head the game is over halfway thru the second.

Friggin everyone at my work has stopped by my office to say, "how baout them flames?", or " why can't your kings beat the flames".
I just drink my coffee and bite my tongue. I am going to the April 9th game. Could be a huge game for both clubs.

Kings loan goal scored by the offensive powerhouse of Matt Greene. I can't believe I've spent $35 to watch that boring game. I was fully prepared to leave if there were a shootout so the Flames actually did me a favor.

not going to win many games with that kind of production.
