I mean, those road stats are almost irrelevant seeing as they've been at home for all of January. They can't change them until the end of this month so citing them over and over is kinda dishonest since they haven't really had a full chance to correct them. Kopitar has been producing at a 150 point pace over the last stretch. Carter, dunno where he is. But he's just not the same player on wing.

In the 3 most recent road games, Kopitar had 1 assist. 5 points in 16 total road games, 1 in 3 recent road games, it's all the same average. Dishonest might be a strong word. It's been a season long issue so far.

Kopitar has 22 out of the last 36 games to figure out the road struggles. More than happy to see him do it. He obviously can. He's led the team in road scoring every season except his rookie year.

I think the Center depth is a bigger problem than Defense.

Folks the Kings second line center is Nick Shore playing about 10 minutes a game...

WTF ?

I don't think the Defense is even really (that bad). But the Centers have been terrible pretty much all season long.

Kopitar is about the only guy playing, average to above. Center use to be a Kings team strength, it's a huge weakness this season.

Yeah was going to go back and edit 'dishonest' on review, wrong word probably. But I think you get my point, he's only recently started to pick up the scoring and hasn't had much of a chance to correct it. But that really goes for the whole team...but he does need to lead the way. Will have plenty of a chance coming up!

While center is a big issue because of the decline of Richards and Stoll, some of that is on Sutter. Put Carter back at second line center where he belongs

Carter's last 25 games have not exactly been good. I'll post the stats.

So Carter has been part of the problem as well. I'll do last 30 games.

30GP 5 G 13 A 18P -9...Not exactly good.

Calm before the storm:

Last season the KINGS had a stretch where they went: 5 wins, 14 losses and 2 SOL....only to run off 8 straight victories. 18 of those 21 games were against Western Conference Foes, and the KINGS managed to get 10 points (4 wins & 2 SOL).

No need to panic. Hell, we are only 2 points behind San Jose and we have 1 game in-hand. Heck, the top 8 Western Conference teams are separated by 13 pts in the standing.

New Jersey just beat San Jose tonight. So that helped us. Sooner or later, the overachievers ie: Dallas, Winnipeg, Calgary will suffer some setbacks and we will capitalize on it and overtake them in the standings.

That's better than 14 of 38.....You can't dress up 14 wins in 38. With a one win out of a seven game home-stand.

That's lottery pick bad.

If this team is to have any chance they are going to have to have a MASSIVE turnaround on the road. 5-8-6 road record, eight more home games played than road games so far.

I agree that he hasn't been that good outside of when the 70's Line was killing it. But right now with the Kings situation I think it would help the team if he was back centering the 2nd line.

But the question is who would you put on his wings? King and Brown? Can Shore play wing effectively? Maybe bring O'Neill up when he's healthy again?

The Kings need a Center that can log 18+ minutes a night, and pitch in on offense. To help stabilize everyone else, they need the same on Defense.

Top four Defender, bottom six/ tweener top six Center. That way, certain players (Richards/Stoll/McNabb//Greene) go back to playing roles they can be successful in.

There's a lot of deadweight sandbagging it on this roster. These guys aren't playing the Kings' brand of hockey. Very few guys are looking to initiate contact, especially the forwards.

Muzzin has been a disaster, King/Nolan have forgotten why they are even on an NHL roster, Kopitar has easily been getting knocked off of the puck, Carter can't hit the net, nothing can go right for Richards, Williams is a turnover machine, Quick's been fighting the puck, etc.

There's a slew of players who are struggling and are not playing to their strengths, and as a result, they're giving away points left and right.

Ya, I agree it'd be hard to move him. But the others can be. Though I know Greene wont be. So move Stoll and Nolan.

Why move Stoll when he loves it here, and likely can be re-signed on the cheap in the off season. Stoll would be the best 4th line center in the division for the next couple of years.

I wouldn't trade Williams or Regehr unless you can get a really good return. It should be obvious the physicality Regehr brings to the team that and Williams isn't always on point but he is a proven clutch player. The rest of the guys, ya, we could move. I hate moving players from a SC winning team, but if a few need to be moved because they're not getting it done anymore, then I guess it has to happen.

I wouldn't trade Williams for anything other than a massive overpayment (UFA or not). Regehr could be had for a decent return but I could see him staying. If we are definitely out of the playoffs, I'd move him and give Forbort some time in the NHL.

All teams need little changes here and there or they will start to fall behind. The Kings could add some more speed and skill to balance out the team. We have enough big, tough, gritty guys and the prospects just like them. We need speed and skill!

I don't think Stoll is going to accept the (cheap) you guys keep throwing around.

The Man is still a professional, and hockey is his livelihood. If Stoll feels he can make more in UFA, he will leave.

So define (cheap), cause Stoll at 3 million is not a good idea for the Kings. If People are thinking Stoll is just going to accept say one million to play fourth line center...You would be wrong.

Move him and get some help at the deadline. Then (if the team wants) resign him on the cheap. I wouldn't want him back, rather have Shore than Stoll :p:

What do you consider cheap?

That was my question, cause if Lombardi comes to Stoll (veteran) with a 1.5 or 1.0 Mill offer to play fourth line center....

Stoll will be filing for UFA. And the Kings paying Stoll anything more than 1.5 million...is a bad idea.

I still consider Boyd Gordon Stoll's comparison, Gordon's last contract was for 3 million per year.

This could also be Stoll's last shot at a big pay day as a UFA to pursue a decent salary, just like what Willie Mitchell did in the last offseason.

I wouldn't give Stoll more than say, Greene, since I view those two as equal talents in their respective positions: a bottom pairing, heart and soul, locker room glue guy.

And with these guys reaching 30+, it's more than likely that they'll keep regressing, so you've got to be careful with how long you commit to these deals.
