Nah, I've come around to accepting this strategy. I'd rather he play with Brown and Kapanen than with Matthias and Boyes/Grabner. It'll be much more beneficial in the future.

I get it guys, and I understand the need to build chemistry with his future linemates but IMO he HAS to be the best player not currently in the NHL<yup I just said that
 
He's a fantastic talent and imo would not look out of place at the nhl level but to say he is the best player not currently in the NHL is a stretch . I'm all for discussing him as a prospect and also using his production as a indicator of his impact level ounce he gets to the NHL but when fans start beating there chest like this they loose me a comment like that does nothing but incite other fan bases.
 
He probably could play in the nhl right now as winger, but I think they want him to be a center full time when he gets called up.

He's a good talent no doubt, but these hyperbolic type of comments are what gives fanatical Leafs fans a bad name here. This may be okay to say on the Leafs board where hyping Leafs prospects is the norm. But here on the main board it probably won't be taken so well.

Definitely the best player outside the NHL. People forget that Radulov and Kovalev are older now and not as good as they once were... they'd get 50 points in the NHL tops. Radulov is only 3 points ahead of guys like Linus Omark and Brandon Kozun who couldn't hack the NHL.
 
To say Nylander is better than Kovalchuk is a bit silly tbh. To say that Nylander is the best player under 25 who isn't in the NHL is absolutely fair, however.

50 point player now? You know he scored 71 points in 47 games last year in the KHL...

Then how come he doesn't lead all U-25 players in the AHL in scoring.

There's also this guy named Auston Matthews.
 
He's not the best player outside the NHL. He did score a nice goal last night though.

This thread is an absolute gongshow. Please just lock it up. We can't discuss Nylander's progress here anymore.
