So how about that Nylander kid? Hopefully the Marlies put up a decent run so we can get a good look at him in the playoffs. Either way I feel like this thread might turn into the battle of small sample sizes. PPG in 10 or less games he is a god. 0.5 PPG in 10 or less and he's a choker.

Stay tuned.

If he performs in the playoffs I'll be very impressed. It'll get tighter, so it'll be great to see how he responds. As long as the Marlies goaltending plays okay, they'll have a shot at making a run.

How has Nylander looked in the AHL playoffs?

From what I've watched it looks like a bit of a learning process for him, just figuring out how to navigate the even tighter playoff ice. He still looks fast and creative, just without any room.

He'll figure it out, I see his numbers improving as the playoffs go on.

It's nice to see others leading the offence though, like Leivo and Frattin. Gives Willie a little time.

William Nylander looks like he's going to be a very dangerous player when he has the puck on his stick behind the other teams net. With his vision and passing ability, it's going to be fun watching him feed pass after pass to any open Leaf in front of the net while on the PP.

I'm content with Nylander/Kadri.. if Nylander can be our true #1 centre than I'd be ok with Kadri being our 2nd line Center. If Nylander is projected to be a #1 Centerman by management than I think Hanifin is the bigger need right now. Especially with Brown in our system.

Its an interesting call to make we might have at the draft.

Nylander is extremely skilled. Very, very skilled. And it was nice to see him not scared to through some hits.

Of course defensive question marks are there. While it isnt too concerning, you do wonder -- is a Nylander/Kadri tandem just strong enough to be a contender. Skill is there. Grit is there. But grit does have some limits if the guys just are a little o the smallish size.

If we do draft Strome, I think the situation is a lot clearer -- groom him and Kadri, and move Nylander to the wing.

On Leafs Lunch right now.

Apparently he's hit 189 Pounds now? Putting some size on apparently. He hasn't lost any of his speed either from watching him play with the Marlies.

Obviously a head shot isn't the best way to evaluate the size of a player, but you can definitely tell he's added size and muscle in comparison to where he was about 14 months ago.

Looks a lot thicker and mature compared to this time last year. Dubas spoke very highly of his work ethic today as well. He's not someone who needs people to tell him to work harder, he pushes himself everyday.

Willy also said that outside pressure doesn't mean affect him as he puts more pressure on himself than anyone else ever could.

.... I'm sure he's matured, and put on some muscle, but this is not a good way to evaluate it. The new picture, he's much more tanned, which contributes to definition .... and the way in which his head is positioned, in the new photo makes a neck appear thicker.. in comparison to his head being positioned more downward in the old picture. Also... his clothing in the new picture is more form fitting.. again contributes to looking more fit, and the camera angle on the old picture is a wide angle, while the right one is more of a closeup... which favors a more muscular look.

He's also added ~15-20 lbs in-between those pictures, I'm sure that might have something to do with it. His shoulders are more broad in the newer pic, but yes like I said at the start of my post, it isn't a good way to evaluate it.

lmao tan adds more definition the body not the face... You can obviously see the guy has put on weight in the picture, unless you are blind... Hes added around 15/20 pounds..

We all knew he put on 15-20 pounds already so this isn't anything new.

he went from being a swedish princess to being a grown man :)

Being real, yeah he's put on weight and he's got a little bit of that fat under his throat now (typical for people bulking). You don't need to be a lean machine to play in the NHL and I'd love to see a bulkier, bigger and stronger Nylander (in moderation ofcourse).

Let's hope he doesn't become an older, balder, fatter Nylander, like a certain player we recently traded.

Are we seriously doing this

He's gone from King Joffrey to Jamie Lannister.
