Misconception. Nylander was born in North America (Alberta IIRC) but he went right back to Sweden when he was very young and played in Stockholm for majority of his young life.

Regardless, comparable production, but if Willy didn't have the fluff of adjusting to entirely different ice, I reckon he would be PPG.

Point is, Pastrnak had to make that same adjustment.

Just confirming that he's actually up to 189lbs (source: him on Leafs lunch just now)

On Leafs Lunch right now.

Apparently he's hit 189 Pounds now? Putting some size on apparently. He hasn't lost any of his speed either from watching him play with the Marlies.

Connor Brown just said him and willie invited freddie the goat to play nine holes with them. Freddy opted to stay in and do a 1000 piece puzzle instead.

He's so fun to watch. Amazing passer, great wrist shot, seems to slow the game down in his brain as evidenced by that goal he banked off the defender's skate and in. From his reaction you could tell he did it on purpose.

The best part for me is how many times he scores banging in a puck on the goal line, and just always heads to the net. Not a perimeter guy at all.

Doesn't even do him justice.

His shot is underrated plus he has an amazing ability to read the play so that when he passes the guy has a ton of time and space to get the shot off. I noticed it at 1st in the WJC

I really hope Brown and the Goat keep up their development cuz thats 2 centers who have great skills in different areas

Brown is a Winger man, unless you're talking about Willie and GOAT as Centers.

Damn the Toronto hype machine starting up again.

Nylander being compared to Sundin and Salming..

He'll be a nice player but cmon..
Wow way to miss the positive feel of the video and just turn it into a shot at Toronto. This was about the positive impact of Swedish players on Toronto, not turning Nylander into Sundin.

What's funny about Nylander's highlights is that he is the anti-ovechkin when it comes to goal celebration. He's celebrations are almost non-existent.

Says he is up to 189lbs from 174 at the beginning of the year.

Just crazy how much weight he's put on while dominating.

Or a 1-2 punch of Strome-Nylander, that would be sweet.

I'm content with Nylander/Kadri.. if Nylander can be our true #1 centre than I'd be ok with Kadri being our 2nd line Center. If Nylander is projected to be a #1 Centerman by management than I think Hanifin is the bigger need right now. Especially with Brown in our system.

I think we would see Rielly on his off side, since he is older then Hanifin and much more experienced. He's played his off side for the Leafs from time to time.

It would be more likely they wouldn't play together and both would play the left side.
