This guy just has so much skill. I remember when he got drafted I read that he may be the most skilled from his entire draft. Looks like it so far

What does this have to do with our pick? I'm here commenting about Nylander. I'm not comparing him with anybody and I'm not representing any certain fanbase

When you have other Canucks fans coming in here and telling you to shut up and stop being so salty, maybe it's time you move on. Just a thought.

Also, show me one cup winner in the past 10 years who has a team with several superstars that each lead the league in points, hits & blocked shots. Apparently you can't win without them, so please just name the offensive dynamos that also specialize in shot blocking that won cups.

He's amazing, Matthews is the leading scorer because of Nylander's nifty moves, great vision and impressive puck handling. He's been equally as impressive as Matthews, and way more impressive than Marner IMO.

I'm glad he dodged the puck. Have you seen how hot he is? Even if it didn't hit his face, it's just not worth it.

I came into the season with high expectations for him and he's surpassed them. Game in and game out the best player on the Leafs. He just always makes the smart play. He's dangerous in any situation because his offensive package is so complete. When the shot is the best option, he shoots; when the pass is the best option, he passes. Active in the neutral zone and exerts a lot of pressure on the opposing defense in his own zone. Nylander is already a good NHLer.

His best NHL game thus far. What a pleasure to watch. Just a beauty and then some. Confidence still growing on this kid, and he never had a shortage to begin with.

He is just something else. I mean, even the biggest homers didn't expect him to be this good, this fast.

Still can't believe we got him at pick 8. I was so scared we were going to pick good ol' Ontario boy Nick Ritchie.

I've probably been the hardest poster on this kid, but I watch every Toronto game and that missed block is a non-issue. Just one play like that could be the difference between missing 20+ games and being healthy to keep the momentum going.

This guy has incredible work ethic (judged wrongly before) and the most important thing for him right now is continuing to build on this. I'm hoping he stays healthy and we don't miss out on Entertainment from some overly physical scrub.

Keep it up young man :yo:

I think he's probably been our best player so far this season, although it's certainly close. So psyched to have him, Matthews and Marner, all three are going to be HUGE stars.

I know Marner gets the comp, but that play was Kane-like. He's so slippery.

Lol the Habs hitting each other. ... slippery. He passed a tap in that Hyman hit the crossbar on, and the game before he hit the post. I believe he hit the post the game before too.... kid makes something happen every game.

William Nylander, Auston Matthews and Nikita Zaitsev.

Consider how he play, how he dominated the games, I would not be surprise if he hits 80p this season, 60p I set as a floor this season. He create so much both for himself and others so I can not see him ending under 60p. Last night he could have had 4p easily if Price wouldnt have been a wall.

looking back through some of the old threads about Nylander are pretty funny. The guys bashing him for no other reason besides the fact that he is a leaf prospect, can't find a big enough rock to hide behind.

Nylander has been the leafs best player this season. I expect him to be around 60 pts this year, which is very good for a rookie

I still love how on TV they always still just mention Matthews and Marner... its shocking to me how much Nylander isn't talked about

Nylander for Calder

IMO hes Leafs best player all season so far
