He got the 1st game of the 3 game road trip this past weekend off and played the final 2. His skating and skill is off the charts for this level. It is pretty clear they are working on the detail level of his game in the AHL like when he should and shouldn't be trying to make things happen.

The Moose are a deep and talented team this year so there is no need to really rush him along and play him way too much at this time in his development. My guess is he heads to the World juniors at Christmas along with fellow teammate Chaz Lucius and they come back to the AHL for the rest of the year
And the Finnish coach decides to bench him because he turned over the puck one time while playing with guys who will become farmers.

Finland's coach last couple of WJCs was Antti Pennanen. This year it's Tomi Lämsä. What I've watched of U20 practice games this season, they seem to play "fast and active" style hockey. I think Lambert would be better suited for that style of play.

Did you watch the games? It did quite seem that Lambert had a hard time keeping up.
I did actually, Lambert was the best skater on the team by far. Almost every shift the coach had him out for defensive zone draws, when they managed to get the puck out he was caught up in the neutral zone by himself with none of his teammates supporting the puck. So ya they couldn’t keep up.

Is this a serious post?

Wondering that myself as well. I am not the biggest Lambert fan but I am willing to wait longer than 10 games before judging him. Also it seems like his injury/illness has some effect on him. He scored those 3 points in his first four games. Then he missed almost three weeks and in the last 6 games he hasn't scored any points and is -8. At least he has a lot of shots in those games.

Unfortunately yes. It's incredible how bad some of the content is here. 18 playing in the ahl. He's done!
While I don’t necessarily agree with the hot take it balances off the earlier hot takes that we’re in the thread when he started strong

Which balanced out the hot takes that were in the thread that he was a loser bust after a poor season in Europe.

Which balanced out the hot takes that were in this thread that he was some sort of semi-generational prospect destined for stardom at age 16.

My opinion has not changed. He’s a teenager trying to find his footing in a very difficult league and showing some flashes. He’s basically doing what I would expect most late 1st round type picks to do if thrown into that fire. He’s not shown that he’s some type of steal or worth being labeled that this early and he’s certainly not done anything to be mocked as a bust this early.

Personally I wish his development track would be slowed down for once in his life and would’ve loved to see him in the WHL. But the Jets farm team is under direct supervision in Winnipeg and they obviously feel that long-term they can guide the development of very young players like Lambert and Lucius up close. I think Perfetti has given them the confidence in this process although he was on an entirely different plateau. Only time will tell if they are right in these other cases.

Lambert's stats for the past couple of seasons:

Sure doesn't look pretty.
Maybe it would be good for him to actually score points for a change? WHL is still the right place to play this season IMO.
Also wow that's a lot of minuses.

First he looked great in preseason, then he got injured, then he looked great in his first few AHL games, then he got sick.

I think no matter what we just gotta give the kid some time to see what he actually is rather than these hot takes of he's amazing or he sucks every other week.

Even a full season in the AHL in D+1 is a tough way to measure a prospect and I am saying this as someone who thinks Lambert will go no where.. but people with their hot takes and stat looks ups be silly in here. If you don't like his play or game, say that, but talking about +/- .. come on now.
