3 games. with any luck should have been at least 8 points.
Yeah I just finished watching the game from today, he looked really good. Had an excellent steal that ultimately resulted in a his goal. Picked his man's pocket like Datsyuk.

He and Perfetti had obvious chemistry, it's amazing what happens when you give a guy like Lambert some talent to play with. He had 2 points but easily could have been 4-5.

To paraphrase an article I read today he said he preferred the systems over here that are more quick and hard on the forecheck as opposed to the Finnish team's more passive sit back and wait style of defense. Figured it suited his game more and I tend to agree.

Should have gone to play in WHL then.

Great if Lambert finds his way in an NA game, since he is a very entertaining player to watch ideally. For his tools, perhaps hockey IQ isnt such an issue because if you have the speed and the hands, you can play very straightforward in NA.

Definitely think WHL or AHL are right for him, no sense in returning to Finland as he has been miserable here, unfortunately.

Still think AHL is a bad idea. Guy sucked for 2 years in Liiga. What if he struggles in AHL? That's 3 straight years of sucking. That would be pretty bad.
Go to WHL, play a lot of minutes, put up some points and feel good about yourself.
He'd do very well in the AHL. WHL might be too much of a step backwards.

Not like it matters. Even if he goes to the AHL and doesn't light it up it's not really a big deal. How many 19 year olds step into the AHL and dominate.

WHL sounds like the best option for him. Take a break from playing against men and go score a ton of points in juniors and develop your offensive game. I suspect his confidence is pretty low right now so if anything can turn it around is scoring a lot.

That's not the concern. Lambert had low point totals in Liiga. If he has low point totals in AHL too, that could be very bad for confidence, since Lambert is an offensive player.

The WHL would be kind of pointless. Sure he could go dominate Junior as a 19 year old 1st round pick but what would he be learning. Same bad habits that already caused him to fall in the 1st. Typically it's players that need to physically mature who go back to Junior, or players where there's no other choice. That's really not the case for Lambert at all.

AHL is the best place for him IMO

Lambert was definitely rushed to Liiga. Wasn't ready to play there. So in order to avoid the possibility of the same mistake, he should go to WHL.
He's still pretty skinny too and gets easily pushed off the puck. That was one problem (among others) that he had in Liiga. AHL is more physical than Liiga too, so there's the possibility that Lambert gets "manhandled" there.

perfetti survived just fine in the ahl in his draft year and he is way smaller.

Considering he just led the Penticton tournament in scoring, which probably isn't far off from the AHL in terms of quality of play and physicality, he's probably ready. There were several point per game AHLers in that tournament that he outscored. He was honestly pretty dominant, not just offensively but also physically on the forecheck.

The smallest of sample sizes though? People say international tournaments aren’t relevant for scouting because they are short sample sizes and this is literally 2 to 4 games shorter than any international event. 3 good games in a shinny hockey environment is a lot different than grinding for a whole year in tight systems against grown men.

I think he would likely be fine at the AHL level but wow has a good 3 game run ever changed the total perspective on this kid.

He's always had a North American style, so his performance is not really all that shocking.
