Besides, I thought it was now common knowledge that he faked the pull-up thing into tricking the Oilers into not drafting him.

Yea I thought he looked really good in that last exhibition game in Winnipeg last week and he picked up where he left off in that game. He is dynamic young player.

He reminded me of Kesler whenever he was on forecheck or taking the puck to the net. I hadn't seen him play much before last night, but was definitely impressed as a Canucks fan. I think the Flames have a good one on their hands.

I've said it before also. I think Bennett will play a lot like Kesler. They play the same two way strong bull like game but I still believe that Sam will put up slightly more points in his career. I really don't see many players with more determination than him on the ice you know to go along with his dynamite hands and off the charts IQ kids a beaut. Going to give you guys trouble for years to come.

I know you're trying to be funny, but since his shoulder surgery I would bet large money he can do more pullups than you.

I would take that bet, 5 years of rock climbing and I can probably do more pullups than most NHLers. Not that I am stronger than any of them but pullups are relative to your bodyweight which makes them more difficult for NHLers as the have a lot of lower body strength that weighs them down.

That being said, that was an attempt at humor and I don't think pullups should have ever even factored into the discussion of Bennett as a prospect, injured shoulder or not at the time they just aren't that important for Hockey players.

Bennett plays balls to the wall. It's like he has no idea that 18 year olds are supposed to have some kind of nerves. His motor just doesn't stop and he seems to be raging forward at all times.

Good little clip here showing the ferocity and drive he has going to the net.

Hitting anyone in his way, plowing through and into people...

He could very well be a difference maker in this series. Crazy to think a couple days ago there were doubts he'd even be playing.

I'll bet you could rock them in a thumb war, too!

Said this in another thread, but will say it here as well. I hope the kid "lives" to play to 25.

If he keeps driving to the net like that, with his head down, he is gonna get hammered, hard. I just hope a head shot doesn't end his career before it starts.

He had his head up and only put it down after getting around the first defenseman in order to maintain control after a nice move. He was still aware of the other guy there and its not like you're completely blind the second you glance down at the puck, you still have peripheral vision.

Sorry, no.

Sorry, no.

Lmao there's video evidence. Watch as he looks up, sees the defender and moves around him, glances down for less than a second, fully aware that there is another guy, looks back up and shoots on net. He doesn't make it this far in his career if he's not aware of his surroundings.
