Oh I know Nadeau's entire goal highlight reel doesn't exceed 50'

He's got that one in the Ottawa game from just inside the hash marks that will make it far. The rest might not get to the blueline though. :biglaugh:

Savoie's line looked really good in what I watched and Benson is not back with him (he was out with Geekie and both Friesen and Nelson on the other wing.

It looked like they wanted to ease Benson in with Savoie being on such a heater from the first series

I'm wondering if Benson's still a bit tender with whatever he's dealing with. It would be nice if ANYONE in Winnipeg covered the best team in the WHL but nope. :eyeroll: I don't under stand how that can be, but it's weird.

Winnipeg gave up a goal 65 seconds in and then Evan Friesan took a major and the Warriors have scored three more so far on it to take a 4-0 lead 10 minutes into the game. Benson took a high sticking penalty in there too, one goal was a 5-on-3.

Savoie gets body slammed without the puck by Brenton (6'4" defenseman). Winnipeg back to the PP for the umpteenth time. Still 4-0, they are getting no puck luck.

First time the Ice have scored without it being a play involving Savoie... 4-3 with 3:48 left. 👀

Savoie just cranked Mateychuk on the forecheck.

1:18 left, faceoff in the Ice zone.

Moose Jaw have given Savoie a rough ride on faceoffs tonight (all of the Ice really). Wins one with under 20 seconds left to get a great chance but they can't finish it. MJ gets an ENG to make it 5-3.

Final faceoff stats look like he went 9 for 27.

Baker on Sabres Live Overtime -

“Savoie is a dynamic player and I wouldn’t be surprised if he comes in (next year) and is just dynamite. Almost like Mitch Marner was that second post draft year when he went into Toronto”

He also laid out what he called the worst case scenario next year for Savoie…which is the Shane Wright plan from this year. Stick through camp…get some games...delay sending him back as long as possible to keep him around the team. Of course…he ended up sharing the above quote and was basically laying out best and worst cases. He thinks sending him back to start the year isn’t going to happen. And that having an off-season to work this year, unlike last year, and knowing what he needs to do…he thinks he’s going to blow doors off at camp next year.

Which is what I’ve been saying too. I think he’s out of sight, out of mind enough that some people just forget what tier of prospect he actually is. He’s incredible. And I think he makes this team.

Yep, I've been saying he's in a better spot than Kulich right now to make the team. Apparently Bakes and I agree.

I understood the fan shift towards Kulich. His production at 18 in the AHL is a hell of a thing. And his position as the third pick we made last year makes him an even better story and kind of found money almost. I was pounding the table for him at 16 and love Kulich and he surpassed even my expectations this year.

But he’s not Savoie. Savoie isn’t just in the group of forward prospects to me. He’s above it. If we were talking about ranking guys as prospects…I’d have had him in a tier with Power. Behind Dahlin. Ahead of Quinn. Ahead of anyone else. In their own tier of…yeah…these are guys that I believe will be great NHL players.

I keep going back and forth about whether to pencil Savoie in at 3RW, but he is a better talent than even Quin and he's going to learn under Granato so...

He's the reason I don't get worked up over the idea of signing Compher. (insert "why not both" gif).

Baker wants that big Russian D Simashev. Also mentioned Musty.

He was coming out of his skin wanting to get the draft talk started. Even from the little he got in you can tell he thinks we’re not in the best spot at 13 for what he wants. Which is defense that can play defense.
