His ability at the dot is also something the Sabres could use. With his low center of gravity and quick hands I could see him still being a decent face-off guy in the NHL also.

Imagine a world where Tage is our 1C, a 100 point 50 goal scorer. Cozens our 2C at PPG. And Savoie our 3C that could also be at PPG potentially.

That's 05-07 Sabres baby.

Please...please let Savoie become the 3rd line replacement savior for Olofsson that Levi can be in goal.

f***, any player who is close to even 5-on-5 in goals for/goals against would be an upgrade on Olofsson. That lad is 21 goals in the hole at 5-on-5. It could be Savoie. It could be someone like Rousek.

…I love it. Go to that area and you should get hit. He kills him and gets a penalty…but you want that ice you should be made to earn it

The dude who put a two handed slash on Savoie should have been given two minutes.

I will gladly eat crow on Savoie as I had him on my don't draft list due to his injury history. As a Sabres fan I'm ecstatic that he's turned his year around, and is performing as a top 10 D1 player should. Next year he should be on the Sabres

Last year, he started off high for me and then others passed him. It was interesting as the team and he both shifted their draft positions - they from the expectation of yet another league worst finish and he from some early top pick consideration to further back in the top 10. He reminds me of other players I've seen at the junior level who you can watch and know that they get it. If there weren't complaints about how he started the season, I don't think I'd have taken in as many of his games nor come to enjoy watching what he does to the degree I do. This kid gets it.

There were things I like, things I didn't but mainly it was the last injury especially after his concussion the year before. If you could put Savoie's skill and drive into Geekie's body you'd have the perfect forward

The old cliche of it's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog applies. There may not be a pair of boots big enough to get Geekie fully engaged to use what he has. That is never an issue with Savoie.

And since Benson went out, Savoie has not missed a beat. He stepped up and drove his line. There is no question that they compliment one another but anyone who thinks Savoie's season is due to coattail riding Benson's year is mistaken.

I figure I will get a PM being critical of my use of an ancient cliché now too.
