He has 2-3 games less than Geekie and Zloty and they have almost the same number of points

Him being able to buy out the remainder of his contract. And he can’t sign with Buffalo and then use that to buy out his Russian contract. He has to buy that out first.

On the KHL site, it says that contract ends in April '23.

Then all it will take is him signing a contract with Buffalo after that. Regardless the process I said is how any NHL team can get a Russian signed (obviously not counting those in the CHL or college or in other Euro leagues).
