Yes, but if he doesn't make the Prep team he could play U16.

As a sophomore Nathan MacKinnon missed the cut for Prep and played U16, so either one is good.

Gotta ask you, is their (Shattuck) bantam program any good?

There is this player that i have followed this season , Isaac Howard (2004 born),
he play'd for the Shattuck St. Mary's Bantam T1

Had a really good season, for MNBL Kings & Shattuck St. Mary's Bantam T1

Its the Eliteprospects, so i dunno are the stats 100% correct
but...in total of 67 games, he scored 66 goals, 110 points

MNBL Kings: 17+15=32 (2.28 ppg)
Shatuck St. Mary's Bantam T1: 49+29=78 (1.47 ppg)

Yes Bantam is usually good. But that's mostly 9th graders. He'd be playing U16 if he doesn't make Prep. They aren't always so great, but probably better than another year in Rochester.

So, currently Maddox is playing in the new Minnesota development program, MNHP, for 14-18 year old's
at the 2019 Spring Festival, his team is B15 District 9.

Game 1: Maddox scored 3 goals and added 2 assists, his team won 6-3
Game 2: Maddox scored 1 goal and 1 helper, his team won 7-1
Game 3: Maddox scored 5 goals and added 1 helper, his team won 14-3

Not sure when the play-offs begin. edit: i guess they don't play play-offs

Scoring leaders: (top 10)

1. Maddox Fleming - B15 D9 - 9+4=13
2. Eli Miller - B15 D9 - 1+6=7
3. Dylan Godbout - B15 D8 - 4+2=6
4. Peyton Blair - B15 D4 - 2+4=6
5. Adler Johnston - B15 D9 - 5+0=5
6. Nick Pierre - B15 D8 - 4+1=5
7. Wyatt Carlsson - B15 D3 - 4+1=5
9. Benjamin Portner - B15 D4 - 3+2=5
10. Luke McCarthy B15 D8 - 2+3=5

Portland has the best luck in getting Minnesotans, but best in this case is still not very good.

Portland also drafted Marek Hejduk, are they known to draft really well in the later rounds?
The later rounds of the bantam draft are a crap shoot for every team, and they have to sign which is the first big hurdle. Americans traditionally are more ambivalent about the CHL and can be hard to recruit versus the NCAA. On a positive note Portland signed James Stefan, the son of 1st overall pick Patrik Stefan so hopefully we have some luck with NHL bloodline players like with did with Pierre Turgeon's son Dominic.

Through May 5th - May 6 Maddox will play at the WSI U15 tournament for Minnesota Blades Selects U15

5th (Sunday): MN Blades vs Pro Hockey White (Maloney), MN Blades vs Dynamo Minsk Selects U15
6th (Monday): MN Blades vs XHP Selects, MN Blades vs Draft Day Red Selects

It's a bit much. I'm sure other prospects play a bunch of random tournaments throughout the summer and their threads don't get updated. Nothing will be learned from that tournament against inferior mostly competition for him.

WSI tournament(s) / showcases (all age groups) is not some random tournament of nothing, go and check its history first before posting.
pretty big names have played in them in their times.
