Out with stomach flu tonight

I thought that he looked pretty invisible tonight...

This reminds me of a story that I read recently about his mom calling him while he was preparing meat that he'd frozen, thawed and re-frozen and telling him that he couldn't eat it and had to throw it out. A few weeks later and he's out with stomach flu, one cause of which is improperly prepared food. The Kings need to pay to have someone cook all of his meals before he accidentally kills himself!

Byfield seems like a timid player in he needs to get comfortable in his environment and once he does he dominates. Makes sense why he doesn’t do well in short tournaments.

Couldn't agree more. Looked really tentative at the beginning of the season and has now come a long way. Seems to be a player that I wouldn't be surprised if the coaching staff is constantly reinforcing to him how talented he is.

I was a bit disappointed in his start but, I've really enjoyed watching his maturation. He's gonna be really good if he believes in himself.

I think he will get there, but it does sometimes take longer for these bigger guys to really get going. I don’t think 40-40 is out of question for him, and I hope he gets there even as a Ducks fan. You see fewer of these types of centres (Staal or even Getzlaf really) around these days and it would be great to see a youngster who plays a similar game break into the league

Once the OHL season starts up, the expectation is that he'll be called up to LA and play six games. Kaliyev as well most likely.

Cools thanks feel like Byfield is in the best place to develop in the AHL Do you folks think he goes down to the OHL once it restarts?

No shot. I mean if it's still going after the conclusion of the NHL regular season, perhaps, since we have no idea if/when the OHL will start.

But following semi-normal rules where he gets sent out at the start of OHL season, no chance.

Byfield stripped the puck in the low slot in a previous Condor-Reign game but was stopped. Tonight, he did again it but this time he scored. Held onto the puck for an extra second to make one more deke this time. Impressive.

The OHL is a waste of time for him.
