Just dug up this thread to comment he'd be at the WJC camp and saw this post. Too bad - I was looking forward to seeing him there.

I'm interested to see how he does next season given the graduations from BWK.

With Erkamps gone, is Patrick likely to be named as the team's captain?

I think it's probably a foregone conclusion.

Any updates on his status? Is he still set to start the season on schedule?

As an aside, any comments from the BWK/WHL followers re what, if any, McCrimmon's departure might have on him this season. He's in a kinda head-achy situation, no? On a team where there are some high level graduations and the coach has left???

Brandon will still be a very good team next year. Not sure how McCrimmon leaving would impact him, but the graduates shouldn't. Stelio Mattheos should have a big year along with Patrick.

Really hoping he has a big year. Stelio is going to have to step up big time for Brandon to maintain their dominance.

I'm really good friends with Nolan and he actually cuts his stick to his lips off skates

Which is pretty standard if not an inch taller than many forwards. Really depends on how you like to play. The shorter the better stick handling but also can make the stick far too stiff. My 2 cents anyway.

I wonder how Patrick will perform if Provorov/Hawryluk/Quenneville aren't there next year. The team last year was stacked with 19-20 year old's from the 2014/2015 drafts.

He will perform quite well again if he has competent line mates that have decent offensive sense. Watching him live he drives a lot of the play and is able to make the defense cough up the puck in their own end quite a bit. if you watch the highlight reel above almost half of it is him creating separation to make a nice pass to a teammate for a very good scoring opportunity, plus he has a laser shot as well.

I would be surprised if he drops significantly in production. I cant wait for the season to start its such a great atmosphere to watch some live games.

Quenneville is guaranteed gone. He'll be with Albany this upcoming season.

Is this something of a 'red flag?'....normally this in an injury which develops over a much longer period of time in older players.....but sports hernia surgery at 17 is a little alarming.

I think you're confusing it with an inguinal hernia. A sports hernia can happen suddenly.

It's concerning that the draft -1 hype on Sam Reinhart is higher than the slated #1 pick

Could you imagine a future 1-2 combo of Matthews - Patrick down the middle for the Leafs? One of the only combos I'd take ahead of Matthews - Nylander.
