 there's no reason to believe he'll only be 175 pounds. Your just making stuff up. He'll be 6 ft when he's grown up. And even if he is underweight, I would still bet he succeeds:

I didn't say he would top out at 175, but you never know how someone undersized is going to translate. I'd bet on Marner in the long term as long as he is given time to grow into his body and isn't rushed.

He's got a similar body type to RNH, and RNH is doing fine.

He's been fine when he's been playing but he's had injury troubles along the way, possibly if he was given another year to grow into his frame his second and third season he wouldn't have missed as much time.

That highlight video of Marner is great but I couldn't help noticing that he seems to have some very good players as linemates. In particular, I noticed #10 on that video almost as much as I noticed Marner, and it's a Marner highlight package! Who is #10 and what's his story? Looks like a player to me.

Dvorak, drafted by Arizona last year, kids solid.

Marner has a mix of Giroux/Kane/Briere to his game imo, he's gonna be a stud.

He's been doing ok considering the ****show that Edmonton has been in his time there. If he'd been given time to develop in junior/AHL, my guess is that he'd be doing even better by now

So uh, what's the reason why he's consistently being ranked in the 5-10 range in draft rankings?

size
that's it...
central scouting puts way too much emphasis on size - which is why unskilled 3rd line ceiling players that happen to be physical beasts like Lawson Crouse get slotted in the top 5...
on offensive talent Marner blows Crouse out of the water

You should watch the video posted above and/or a game of his to solidify that your opinion is spot on

Gagner Pts/game in draft year: 2.22

Marner: 2.06

Both 5'10 - 5'11

Both London Knights

Both tore up WHC-17 tournaments

Both right handed, and both like that upper right corner shot

They even celebrate the same way!

Marner will probably even end up in Edmonton next year

You forgot to mention Gagner played with Patrick Kane (and Kostitsyn)

Umm so does anyone think he'll be in the NHL ??? I've seen his size and I'm guessing he'll need at least another year of juniors.

Not sure if anyone has ever seen this video before, but it is highlights of him from his minor midget year with the Don Mills Flyers. He is significantly smaller there than he is now, which shows the amount of growth he has done in a short amount of time. He had and still has game breaking talent and unbelievable finish and creativity.

He won't play in the NHL next season, nor should he. Likely only McJesus plays next season. Eichel has said he wants to stay in University for another year.

Also, Marner is not Gagner. Gagner played with Kane and Kostitsyn to reach 2.2ppg with a guy who had 2.5+.

He'll be 6ft tall, and 180 or so pounds. Just like Kane. Size will not be an issue with him.

I predict Bobby Mack's rankings will mirror this.

when did Eichel say this? I doubt this.

Hey guys, I'm a Leaf fan so I'm potentially looking forward to having the pleasure of my team draft this fellow.

I don't know a whole tonne about Marner's game other than he used to be small but has grown to respectable size and he is very skilled.

Can someone give me a breakdown comparison between him and Strome? I figure it's between Marner and Strome for the Leafs Draft pick, but I actually don't know a tonne about either at this point. And best case for both of them who would they project out to be?
