Absolutely, Michkov has the same risk attached to him now as he did before with the long contract.. no one is going to pass up on an opportunity of a prospect of his ability except for Bedard, unless some of the other guys cover a vast amount of space between now and then.

Actually I don't think that the gap between Bedard/Michov and the rest of the top prospects is as large as it once was.

There are some exceptional top talents for the 23 draft in the first dozen picks or so, like franchise changing guys teams build around.

An assist after 1 period. He is quietly having a wonderful season - nothing spectacular but consistent.

ORRFForever, you're a promising prospect with top 6 upside, but adding video footage to your posts would make you a 1st liner. Dare I say all-star? Here's how to do it:

- Go to the twitter page for either of the league/team that the prospect is playing for. You might consider making an account and following all those leagues or teams. In this case, it's Savoie with Winnipeg, so you'd navigate to their twitter and find the corresponding play you'd like to post. Click the tweet and copy the link:

- Back on HF, you'll click media:

- And paste the link:

Click continue and voila:

LOL!

I'm an OLD man (in my mind, if not my body) and all of that is Greek to me. I couldn't do that if my life depended on it.

Thanks for trying, tho. :)

P.S. I do not have a twitter account - isn't twitter where all the crazy socialists hang out?

Idk why he doesn’t get the hype that other prospects do. I don’t see what Cooley has over him, other than higher potential to play center but I think savoie is an even better prospect. Despite being shorter too it doesn’t affect his game at all. Idk I think he will fall for dumb reasons and absolutely be a steal for some team.

Cooley is a really good defensive player as well, he's a 200 ft player and I'd say his offensive upside is very close to Savoie's. Add in the fact he's also a center and it makes complete sense why Cooley would be ahead of Savoie.

Its important to remember he missed a complete year of WHL development like a lot of players in this upcoming draft. He'd be pacing for 100+ had he not. There is a lost year + in all these prospects and I think when we look back at this draft in 5 years we will all talk about how we underestimated it. Savoie is still my favorite prospect in this draft for pure offensive future impact in the NHL.

To me he projects a William Nylander type. No really stylistically but more so a player than a on really good contender is a 3-4th Best forward. A first liner but not your best forward, if that makes sense.

Everytime I watch the Ice, Savoie is terribly easy to contain at 5 on 5. I called some months ago that I couldnt see him as a future center at the pro level, most disagreed with me, well it didnt take long to prove me right, has been playing the wing for a couple of weeks now.

Kid will show some flashs of talent during games, but most of the times, teams have no issue dealing with him. Also, he needs to get close to the net to score goals, wont beat goaltenders from distance since his shot isnt heavy enough. Im not very high on this kid to translate his game at the next level and feel he is being grossly overrated. Cant see him as a top 10 pick going to the draft. A kid like Rossi, similar sized player, went 9th OV and was a much better all around player.

That is an interesting observation but doesn't really lineup with his production splits. He has 51 ES points and 33 power play points so the bulk of his scoring is at ES. Of his ES scoring he has 20 goals and 18 primary assists. So to me 38 of 51 points being g primary points leads me to believe he is the one stirring the drink.

The above matches my eye test of him whenever I've seen him play. Also most goals are scored in tight in the NHL so him knowing how to get inside and score in close in junior is a plus amd not a minus imo..

Not to mention his shot is a clear strength that can only improve as he gets physically stronger, and a guy like Rossi could only dream of Savoie’s skating ability.

I'd take him on the Ducks if he's available.

Terrible assessment.

This guy is miles ahead of Rossi

Top 3 player in the game within 5 years in the NHL. The pure hockey ability , IQ and talent is there.

Thats what I said, grossly overrated. Rossi had 120 pts in his draft year, over 2 PPG and +69. His skating was close to Savoie while his IQ much higher. Savoie has questionable positioning at times and has his erratic moments. He plays like a junior while Rossi was playing like a pro.

Lol... no he doesn't have Savoies hockey IQ nor skating ability.

Some of you guys are selling Rossi incredibly short here. No he doesn't have Savoie's explosiveness but he is most certainly ahead in the vision and playmaking category.

They are comparable talents to me, both played on powerhouse teams in their draft years and both lead the way for their respective teams. They just play vastly different games and will have things they need to adapt at the NHL level.
