C Mason McTavish - Peterborough Petes, OHL (2021, 3rd, ANA)

conditioning stint.
I think I saw Stephens reporting it will be a 2 week stint. So we might see him in the next weeks games against Condors and Eagles (2 games).
So perhaps he returns to Ducks on the road trip to Vancouver and Seattle after that.

Here's the Stephens tweet. All AHL conditioning stints are 14 days and McTavish could play up to five games with the Gulls during that stretch.

Awesome, thanks for clarifying, I did not knew that.

It's good for McTavish to be more around the professional environment. But will be interesting to see if we send him down down the road. I hope we do but I'm afraid injuries will come and he might be just good around to hang in there. But I would love him to develop himself more in the OHL. Physically there is nothing he can prove there  But just taking more responsibility as a centerman and developing his offensive instincts would be great IMO.

The fact that he missed his 17yo season means he hasn't dominated at the OHL level yet. I think he will. I expect him to play for Canada at world juniors and then return to junior for the second half.

I know this is unlikely to happen but with his Swiss passport playing in the NLA this season would give him a good challenge.

Would be a good challenge forsure, but doesn't happen with the Petes permission, which isn't just unlikely, it isn't happening.

9 games now.... is he sticking with the club?

The club is still deciding. Rakell is close to returning but Comtois needs surgery so there may be a spot open still. The team doesnt really seem to care about the 9 game slide, I think the 40 game mark where players reach UFA a year earlier is more important to them.

Ducks fans are mostly on the side that he should go down, he's not out of place by any stretch but personally I'd like to see him continue to develop offensively in juniors and continue to add some speed.

Not too familiar with the Ducks situation, but I'm sure an option would be to send him back to juniors and call up Perreault, no?
I think that’s prob the right play… perreault is doing really well in AHL right now (15 points in 10 games as a 19 year old, higher ppg than zegras had as a 19 year old in ahl)

mctavish looks alright but can def improve on his game.

we also have Rakell Jones and comtois coming back, and leteiri is also a solid bottom 6 option

That team he's going to absolutely sucks. If he can turn that season around good on him. I'm assuming he'll be traded though.

Barrie has a losing record, they're barely ahead of Peterborough?
Standings mean very little for Barrie right now, Barrie is built for a run this year.
Barrie has more assets to trade than anyone else in the OHL and McTavish is the big fish.
