C Mason McTavish - Peterborough Petes, OHL (2021, 3rd, ANA)

Watching the Canucks Oilers game, saw he had 2 pets what’s McTavish been doing on the ice ? Favourite part of a new season is keeping tabs on rookies.
Ok, Lundestrom and Silf haven't been THAT bad

He looks good. Points he earned was by hustle, not much of skill plays, just simple, honest work. Layed at least one good hit as well

Kid is gonna be an absolute truck when he has his 'full' man strength because he's already quite a lot to handle.

Congrats on the first! I thought he looked better last night than thru most of what I saw in preseason, but just played such a smart/simple game, going to the right spots and supporting teammates. Ducks may have a tough decision on their hands...because he could certainly help the big club.

He’s one of those weird prospects that prob doesn’t benefit from going back to juniors, but maybe isn’t ready for nhl full time either(felt same way about comtois/byfield last couple years) AHL would prob be perfect for him but not an option

The guy has Lappeenranta as his location, as you can see in the page you linked Dale McTavish played there 3 seasons. Not rocket science.

He just scored two thirds of his Dad's career total in his first game. It's not rocket science to see that he's already better, Elon.

Jets fan here,
I was very impressed with McTavish last night, i think he can be Kopitar esque when he fills out and fully adapts to NHL play. It's tough for any 18 year old to step into the league, but it's even crazier for McTavish considering he only played 13 games last year.
It's too bad he can't play in the AHL this year if he doesn't stick. I think it would be great for his development.

I don't think they play a similar game at all but if that happens I won't complain lol

Nope.
He played to my second home town(dual nationality) in Finland, SaiPa, Lappeenranta.
Still remember first home game. He just powered past huge swedish defender and shot to the upper corner.
Those moments you realise that we got special player there.
Dale ended his career at SaiPa.

But yes. Big fan of Dale and also this kid as he seems Dale 2.0.

Only one game, but he looked like an NHL player. The points were one thing, but he was conistenlty in the right (and dirty) areas and was tough to play against. His size/speed/IQ drew penalties and he seemed to be making the right decisions on the ice.

I cant think of a great comparable, maybe a bigger Joe Pavelski? Also, see some Scheifele and Barkov. If he comes close to any of those guys, I would be thrilled.
