Speculation: 2024/25 Trade Rumours, Speculation etc Thread

I feel like they already have 6-8 "Lamberts" though

That's why I think they'd ask for Salo

I don't think we are a great fit as a potential trade partner.

The only one I see them remotely interested in other than Salo is Barlow due to him having a different skill set then the forwards they have.

Probably not good as I don't recognize the name.

Rhinehart went for Levi and a first.

So my guess is based on that is Cozens may get say Lambert and a first from us for him.

So nothing too crazy.
Lambert is a much better prospect than Levi was at the time.

Reinhart was a lot better than Cozens.

That's why it might be a perfect time to pry out Cozens from Buffalo. Buy low.
But he would be the 3rd highest player on the team. So there is that.

I think I'd reserve Perfetti for a deal for Dobson than a move for Cozens. Both deals are probably more realistic in the off-season.
Can you map that chart to winnipegs ppg and buffalos ppg?

Would be interesting to see if there’s any correlation. Which doesn’t imply causation obviously.

PS; gosh darn is winnipegs pp absolute fire.
Not sure exactly what you mean on the ask. Jets PP is 1st in GF/60, beleive Buffalo is bottom 5 (working off memory, on mobile rn).

PP production and rates can vary wildly. But with the comparison of the two players' totals the difference is stark in PP scoring. no clue if cozens sucks on the PP or if it's systemic (I don't watch Buffalo and zero desire to).

I think it's more of the latter, as Buffalo as a team stinks on the PP and Cozens' scoring per TOI at 5v5 is similar to his on the man advantage. Don't expect that to be a trend that continues.

Goalies are tough to project, but Levi was coming of a pretty Hellebuyckian couple of NCAA seasons when he was traded. I don't know if Lambert today would hold greater value...Lambert at the end of last season maybe.

Funny enough they seem to do fine with dmen. Rasmus, Power and Byram all doing quite well. All their young forwards sans Peterka are doing pretty horribly. I'm sure Savoie was quite happy to get out of that developmental market before he hit pro.
Power is doing quite well?

As @surixon said Lambert and a 1st or 2nd is more digestible then Salo
If I'm Chevy there is no way I trade a 1st round pick that is only in the 1st year of his ELC away. That's 3 ahead of any draft pick, and given the depth on the right side he and Ford are still playable on the right side if injury tests the depth.

The player I wonder about is Chibrikov. He's not available for the playoffs. He's probably not around the team a whole lot in his rehab.

Does he have value for a team that is playing for next year not this year? Like Philly or San Jose, among others. Would Chevy move him or is he a part of next year's picture?

Levi had no college stats at the time he was traded in the Reinhart deal. Besides his WJC stint, he played nowhere during his D+1 season because of covid.

Anyone know what’s going on with Blake wheeler? I’m not saying I like this call - but could he be a surprise deadline acquisition?
Please tell me your joking.
Locker room cancer.

If you expect the same level of results. I’m saying you can insult a weaker centre by pairing him with 2 good wingers.
I wouldn't expect him to be insulted, but rather thrilled.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news... but whitehorse winters are considerably warmer than winnipeg...
Think you meant to reply to @Buffdog but just fact checking you, it seems that today, for example, the average high is -8° in Whithorse and -10° in Winnipeg. Not sure I'd call that "considerably warmer." Also, considering the lack of daylight in December and January, buffdog's assumption that Cozens likely wouldn't bat an eye at a Winnipeg winter may hold true.

Edit: missed mad dog's reply.

I made the winter comment in half jest... reality is that if you grow up in that, it might make you want to never live in again if given the opportunity lol

Murat juat put out an article on our trade pieces and likelihood they get moved. Ranking the Winnipeg Jets’ top 10 trade assets: Which ones could be in play?

Perfetti and Salomonsson are untouchable in his eyes. Lambert and Yager are near untouchable.

Every other prospect and our 2025 and 2026 first round picks are available for the right price.

Heinola has his own distinct category as Dubious.

I'd be shocked if the Jets didnt have Yager in the untouchable category.

What about Risto, Joker, Samuelsson, Johnson?
You should really try watching them instead of just looking at their points totals.
As I said before, the year Cozens had his good year most of the players on Buffalo had points totals that they haven't reached since.

Personally i'd sooner deal Perfetti than Yager at this point.

I wouldn't deal either of them and Salomonsson. All three I expect to be core pieces on this team and to carry a lot of the mail after our current core ages out.

Anyone else is fair game for me depending on what comes back.

That's fine, I haven't seen them much this year. The few times I did I didn't notice any glaring awful defensive play. But it was probably a 2 to 3 game sample size.
