What bothers me is he played vs AZ in AZ then got press boxed at a home game where people are paying to see the shiney new toy
But he did just now sit second half of a b2b.Weird move imo...
Why not just like focus on sitting second half of a b2b or something instead.
Lmao true that. These random start times throwing me offBut he did just now sit second half of a b2b.
He's day-to-day with sick movesI'm not sure I understand this "load management" approach. Is he injured still?
I think I read they have only like 9 back to back games so it'll only be like 9 times he gets scratched.I was towering over kids that blew past me sophomore year.
Also on topic more, I realize he’s been hurt and stuff and rookie wall etc, but just seems like an odd move to play a guy 20 minutes one night and scratch the next. Okay fine limit his minutes or something but pure scratch? Just don’t like it.
Yeah I mean if it pays off maybe we start seeing more 18 year olds coming into the league where teams don't want to send them back to juniors.I think it'll be interesting to see the result of resting him not just for this season but also for the sophomore season (if he will have a sophomore slump, that is), could trailblaze for other teams to try the same.
...aaaaaaaaaand I'm hungry now.He is still only 18. He is guaranteed to still grow at least one inch, bringing him to 6"4' but he cannot achieve this if he gets stunted or hit really hard by Brayden McNabb or Jamie Oleksiak or if Evander Kane cross-checks him in his back spine.
Besides, he needs to less time playing games and more time growing, going to Disneyland nearby and IKEA in Irvine and getting Swedish meatballs and adapting to the American lifestyle. Mmmm Swedish meatballs.
Unless the Ducks miraculously make the playoffs and make a cinderella run that's wrong. He played 85 games last season.Remember, him sitting the back end of back to backs, or maybe even more depending on how the schedule plays out, is still more then he played last year in the SHL/international play.
The Ducks have 14 games in November.
Last year he played 10 games in October.
9 games in November.
8 games in December.
10 games in January.
8 games in February.
Even if he sits a couple games a month, he will still be playing games at a higher rate then he ever has at the pro level.
No issue with this. Especially when his development, and the development of the other kids, is way more important then wins right now.
I meant rate wise, not overall. Last year he played those games from late August to late May. This year he would have played 82 games from mid October to mid April. Only 3 less games in 2 and a half less months.Unless the Ducks miraculously make the playoffs and make a cinderella run that's wrong. He played 85 games last season.
Huge bummer, but glad it isnt an injury.
They could keep him in the AHL like other teams do with players in their D+1. Would that be better? This is craziness. Sends the wrong signal to the rest of the team, that losing is okay.
Playing Carlsson gives this team the best chance to win. This is a young team that needs to learn how to win.
No, it would not be better. He's their best centerman, he's going to have a long offseason to build muscle, I think you need to let him play. They could keep him in the AHL like other teams do with players in their D+1. Would that be better?
This is what they feel is best for the player, and the team in the longterm. The players are not dumb. They know this is a development year.
And they disagree. No, it would not be better. He's their best centerman, he's going to have a long offseason to build muscle, I think you need to let him play.
You should write them a letter.I don't care if this is the "plan". If this is the plan, then its a dumb f***ing plan. He's their best center. Easily.
Strength and development plan? What?
