Barbashev could still easily be the first Q player selected in the draft this year.

Honestly, I can see Moncton upsetting the Armada and Barbashev being a big part of that.

Fair enough. I should rephrase - No one should take Barbashev over Ehlers.

Disagree I would take him over Ehlers. His game is WAY more transformable to the NHL. He is the most under rated player in this draft. I like Ehlers don't get me wrong but if Barbashev was not Russian he would be getting way more hype. Guy's a pretty complete player. Ehlers is somewhat boom or bust

Not true. Barbashev is comparable to American, Dylan Larkin. Larkin is not receiving much hype. Barbashev is a little more accomplished, polished.

I do agree that Barbashev is very underrated. It's rare you get a skilled Russian with his style. He's having the type of year I expected out of McCann. Kudos!

When I first saw Barbashev play (last year) I remember he stood out because of how physical he was, and how willing he was to go into the dirty areas.

Everytime I've seen him play since he's been impressive. Fast, has good vision, and always producing.

I didn't have high hopes for Moncton going into this series, but last night they proved they can win, and Barbashev will be a big factor going forward.

I think he'll be a great pick for whoever picks him up

He had a great game last night , even if you disregard his points. Very physical and always on the puck. He's such a complete player , I wouldn't be surprised to see him get taken earlier than ranked.

Barbashev is a guy I want with the Maple Leafs pick.

The pick will likely be either #11 or #12.

Would definitely be great if the Leafs drafted him (though I doubt they will). In such a big market I'd be able to watch him a ton.

From everything I've seen and heard of him, he should be in the top 10 of the draft. He's very skilled, has size, defensively responsible, has leadership qualities, and russian factor seems insignificant.

Some lists have him in the 12-18 range, but I'm really not sure why an NHL team would take a McCann/Virtanen/Ritchie before him. Look for him to be taken in the 6-9 range.

I've read some people say he plays center? Does he play C or W?

From what I've read is that naturally he is a winger, but last season he was shifted to centre and played very well. I imagine any team that drafts him would likely try to shift him to a permanent C.

For Moncton, he played center. In tournaments, he has played wing.
